Second try
Aug. 25th, 2012 01:08 pmToday is hot, breezy, bright and quiet. I should have been at work today, but I went for my second IUI. My boss, luckily for me, is with me all the way on this. She was really helpful, even though she had to cancel all of my appointments yesterday.
I thought it would be funny if I went into the exam room and said "INSPEEEEEERMINATE" in the voice of a Dalek, but then I figured no one would get it. I was doing it in my mind, though.
I sat around the office for 45 minutes after my appointment time (WHY do they make you wait so long?) reading Sherlock Holmes. Then, in the exam room, I sat around (well, not sat) awkwardly for another ten minutes before she came in.
Like the last time, she asked if I was allergic to latex. Then she asked "Are you allergic to shellfish?"
I said, "Why, are you going to put one up there?" Because, what, is this like some new thing? Are we doing a spell or something?
She cracked up and explained that she had to use betadine on the instruments, which has iodine, which causes the same allergy as shellfish. Weird, I've never been asked that before.
Same as last time, the whole thing took a few seconds. I hung around reading for about five minutes and then decided to GTFO.
