So I did my (hopefully) cool TCM treatment on High School Homeslice today and I felt like it went fairly well. I did have a hard time remembering some of the stuff from last trimester, but it was a good review and I thought, hey, plenty of time to study for HUGEASS TEST tomorrow. 'Cause alls I gots ta do is hit up the vet for Sano's rash that he can't shake, study there a bit, then hang for a while with Gold Dragon, then study a bit more and Fanny's your auntie.

Like everything else I plan, THIS WAS NOT TO BE.

Thanks to the neighbor's stray cat (KEEP YOUR MEFFING CATS INDOORS, THX,) and Sano's ridiculously deficient immune system (thanks, Dr. Dickwhistle, as this can all be traced back to your hairy ass,) Sano's got a screaming case of scabies, which he's in the process of giving to Haku. It's zoonotic, which means that I could have gotten it, too. And my Mom, as well. But if you've got a hearty immune system, you usually shake them off. I'm surprised Haku's lasted as long as he has without getting such a blazing case of it.

The usual treatment for them is Ivermectin, which takes about five days to work. You clean your house, bleach their bedding, clean the floors in hot water, steam clean the rugs, and you should be good to go within a week. However, since Haku has epilepsy, Ivermectin is contraindicated. So I stood there in the office thinking, “Well, but Haku's not so bad. He'll prolly be okay with an herbal bath or two.” Then the dermvet asked, “What kind of, uhh... Shepherd mix is Sano?” As if she'd seen something else in him. I said, “Well, I don't know why they put him down as a shepherd. He's some kind of border collie or sheltand or something like that.” “Oh,” she said. “A herding dog.” Yes, that's right, a herding dog! Sano herds everything. Children, family, Haku, me. A right ol' heel-nipper. “That's too bad,” the dermvet said. “You can't use Ivermectin in herding dogs.”

She didn't specify why, but a quick google of “ivermectin” and “herding dogs” reveals that border collies and such are lacking a protein that keep this particular neurotoxins outside of the nervous system. That'd be just what I need, right? Two seizuring dogs. With scabies. Oh, hold up. According to the website: 99% of them do not survive. So that's why the dermvet said, “I'm so glad you told me that!”

ME TOO.

So now they both have to be bathed in this disgusting lime sulfur every week, which is going to stench up the place, turn Haku's fur yellow, and throw mites all over my bathroom, which I will have to bleach constantly. I hate bleach.

Seriously, I just LOVE how neither of my dogs can use the fast, efficient treatment for two totally random and outlandish reasons.

Another thing that's really P'ing me O is that, well, as I'd mentioned last night, I was gonna get together with Gold Dragon tonight. That's a phone call you just love to make. “I'm so sorry we can't hang out. My house has scabies. Next week?” And, damnit, I was all tarted up in my finery. (Something that shimmers, sexy cologne, blonde wig, sexy underwear, and diamond tiara. /FFVIIpoodle)

So, you know what, universe, EFF YOU. Eff you and the Big Bang you rode in on.

And I never got to study for my hugeass test tomorrow. And it's a hard one (TWSS, yeah, I know.) All fill in the blanks and diagrams on the anatomical man, diagrams of meridian points down to the millimeter.

Yeah, I know, I could be studying right now instead of bitching, but STFU!!!! I hate everything.

Right? My whole night could have ended much worse than this.
