YESSSS.
According to Stephen, "Both Rowling and Meyer, they're speaking directly to young people... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can't write worth a darn. She's not very good."
THANK YOU Mr. King.
I got so excited I forgot a few other details totally unrelated to anything either horrifying (Twilight) or fannishly exciting (King dissing Twilight.)
I got an 88 on my first chemistry test. The only reason I'm disappointed is because there were a two questions that I really would have gotten right if I had not changed my answer in one case, and just re-read the question in the other case. Ah well.
Also, today it took me two hours and fifty minutes to get home. I do not exaggerate when I tell you that I went from exit 44 to exit 62 going 4 MPH the entire way. Traffic was THAT bad, for real. Also it was snowing a bitch so that didn't help at all. I was so goddamn mad I wanted to shoot lasers out from my eyes and melt all the cars on the road, only it really wasn't their fault and they were just as stuck as I was. Then I wished evil on the NY highway department for not being anywhere in goddamn sight, I swear I still kinda hope that a thousand lice infest their armpits.
I was NOT HAPPY.
And I have to battle the same thing going to school tomorrow. And I have to be there at 8:30. To take a test. And I missed the class last week because of the blizzard: school being closed was a forgone conclusion but the one class I was in was still on, and even though only three people showed up they still had a lecture and we are still having a test tomorrow, and the girl who was going to email me the lecture notes never did.
So I'm so totally not in the best mood, then all kinds of other nonsense is going on what-with I'm trying to organize this fun little daytrip to Chinatown next week but it's not coming together.
Overall I'm in a crappy, irritable mood and I swear to every god old and new that the next person who rides me about anything, seriously, anything at all, is getting a size nine smooth up the ass.
And I'm not even necessarily talking about my boot.

Date: 2009-02-04 12:47 pm (UTC)I too always make mistakes like that. I need to remember to go with my gut feeling on answers, but at the same time, to carefully reread and check my answers. Which, wtf, sounds contradictory.
Also, i am sorry for your frustration and snowbounditude, but i find myself wracking my brain going, "Hmm, WHAT ELSE COMES IN SIZE 9, THAT FITS IN IN ASS???"

Date: 2009-02-07 02:50 am (UTC)Reading 'Twilight' as an adult I could see how it would appeal to girls 12-16 years of age, but that's about it.
I nearly stopped reading the series when she introduced weres into the mix. Vamp/Weres is something has been done to death.
As for Hancock...definitely should see...answers one question about 'Superman:Man of Steel and Lois: Woman of Tissue.':)
