MY BLUE HEAVEN

After work today I ran down to Best Buy because I figured I would buy this adorable little Motorola Blackberry wannabe because although I was willing to drop a few hundred on a real Blackberry, the $100/month plan was ridiculous, I mean my car insurance is less than that. THe Sprint one had a plan that seemed to be $50/ month for unlimited broadband internet, email, music and media download, AND voice/phone. However, when I talked to the nice guy at Best Buy today, he showed me the fine print. Yeah, the internet access was only $15/month, but that's on top of the modem use fee, which is $39.99/month. So I said "eff that" and decided to save my money for a nice new laptop instead (mine's five years old) only I want a Mac this time instead of Microsoft (there is no way I'm getting involved with Vista, thanks,) but there are no dealers and I have to order it off the internet and I frigging hate that. Plus I'm not sure if I could get internet access when I go to Florida (I use my old cell phone to hook up now, and that's not going to last much longer,) and if I can't, then I really shouldn't even bother. But the funny part was when I was talking to the Best Buy guy and I told him I was interested in the Blackberry wannabe because I love the internet and I just want to keep it in my back pocket all the time, and he asked me "What do you use the internet for?" Which I think is a weird question, right? So I just told him, "I dunno, PORN." And he cracked up laughing and said, "ME, TOO! THE INTERNET IS FOR PORN!" So we kinda LOLed.
Anyway I have some lovely pictures to share.
This is my first ever plumeria blossom!

It's a shame you can't smell it through the computer, because no "plumeria scented" lotion or perfume really does it justice. It has a spicy smell that is very odd.
Adam is sleepy.

Isn't he a love? Everyone should hear a baby robin squeak and PEEPchirp for food at least once in their lives.
Gerard:

I got him today and he's PERFECT. He's at that awkward stage now where his legs and wings don't match and he keeps falling over, no feathers on his face yet and all buggy eyes and huge mouth. I think he's beautiful. Though it's hard to see in this what he's going to look like when he grows up, which is totally gorgeous. (I know most people hate these birds but I adore them.)
Jared after a bath:

Jared all dry and floofy:

There's nothing finer to raise than baby bluejays. He is my blue heaven.

Date: 2007-06-20 12:45 am (UTC)Plumerias have been a BEEOTCH for me to grow. This is the first one that has ever lived more than a few months. I might try another after this!

Date: 2007-06-21 12:35 am (UTC)They're not hard to grow, because they take loads of sunlight and high temperatures and if you can manage that, you can root them and get leaves on them. Getting them to flower is a whole 'nother ordeal, though.
Worth it, though! ^_^

I love grackles, we had a pied one that came to our yard for four years in a row. My daughter named him spot, each spring she would come running to get me when he showed up.."MOM!! spots back!!" it was cool. I love their shiny blue heads. I think they are beautiful. He was even more so with his crazy white spots!!
