I sobbed like a nine year old. No, seriously, I cried through the last five minutes, and literally sobbed through the credits (the translation of that last song.) It actually began when Howl said that life wasn't worth living if he wasn't beautiful and then Sophie said that she had never been beautiful for a moment and then ran outside crying.

Seriously, I'm such a child when it comes to movies.

Uhh, and please tell me I'm not the only one who sees this:

That was the most heart-wrenching part of the movie, to me. That, and Calcifer coming back and giving Sophie a kiss. I love this movie to pieces, I'm glad you got a chance to see it. :)

BEST MOVIE EVAR. =D I always cry when Sophie's distraught because she poured water on Calcifer. ;_; And then fell down a mountain.

What're those second caps from?

OMG, you should watch Nausicaa. ^^

I've heard rumors of a torrent... but as yet I've been unable to locate it. I have friends going to Japan in December, and I'm tempted to see if they can't find a, erm... slightly less than legitimate copy. 'Cause you know I'm gonna buy it and everything associated with it when it gets released here.

However, that may not be until 2009, when SciFi takes it's grubby little mitts off the rights. Bastards.

But yes. When I know, you will ALL know. =D

Yeah, just went stomping around Google and found that out. Sci-Fi channel's getting a lit brown bag put on their doorstep.

But yes. When I know, you will ALL know. =D

Excellent. XD

It definitely goes into my favorites.

Those are from Alexander; that's Jared. There were times in the movie when the resemblance was, uhh, striking. O_o

It is indeed a wonderous piece of film. ^^ Have you read the book? That's equally lovely! =D

Oooo, I'd like to see that, too. Maybe I'll rent it this weekend! The similarity is disturbing.

So Howl = Jared = Tamaki? *O.o* Woah.

It wasn't that good, but it was pretty. :)

Tamaki? I don't know much about this movie, unfortunately, except that I adored it. :)

I'm not quite seeing it. But pretty, pretty, pretty!

I love Miyazaki. Howl's Moving Castle seemed to suffer a little bit, I think. Not in depth or anything. In fact, I think it has a bit more character and slightly less plot than his other work, but he's always been more into heart than plotpoints. When I mean suffer, I think the look of the movie suffers. The first 2/3s seems more beautiful than the last 1/3. Some of the animation looks bad towards the end. Maybe due to outsourcing the work to korea like they did for a little of Spirited Away? Its hard to put my finger on exactly when the jump in quality happens, but when Howl is swallowing the light, it looks REALLY bad. Or maybe I'm just projecting my fear of what'll happen when Miyazaki fully retires and lesser artists have to carry on his work.

Being the neatfreak germophobe that I am, the scenes with Sophie cleaning up Howl's house is REALLY gratifying. God, his movies are good at making you SMELL STINK visually!

Maybe I just see Le Jared everywhere. ;D

I'll have to watch it again with a more critical eye. I was too busy blubbering like a little beeotch. ;)

Yeah, he's really good at that. That one scene in Spirited Away, with the (spoiler deleted) totally owns when it comes to portraying stench.
