So apparently the whole Rose thing got linked on Portal of Evil. I can't find the link right now as it is somewhere in the tangle of comments over the last few days. Suffice to say that someone there thinks that I am "uppity." It's funny, because that last post I made pointed to heartles-bitches.com, where "uppity" is a compliment. I wear that one proudly, too. "Uppity bitch", "opinionated feminist". I guess I am also fat and ugly. ^_^ I think that thread was also called "Rose vs. the volcano." That's also pretty weird, because I am so totally obsessed with volcanos and volcano lore, and Pele dances. :D

Also, check it out, people: the concert is TONIGHT. In a few hours, my friend and I will be on the train to NYC. Am I excited? Well, put it this way: I will have to wear Depends if I get any more excited.

And if you think that it couldn't possible get any better, then check out this item that blows away all of those minor things listed up there: My cousin and her husband's adoption is very close to going through. They had their home-study yesterday, and apparently it went really well. All continues to go well, they should be parents by the beginning of the year. They've waited for this for so long and they are about to have it all happen. And get this: they were surprised by the question, "Do you name anyone as a legal guardian in case anything happens to both of you?" They looked at each other and named ME. Can I even begin to tell you what an honor? I promise not to plot against them. ^_~ They are going to be beautiful parents, and there will be another baby in the family soon. Another baby, right across the street from me. Like starting over. There will never, ever be another baby Spencer or baby Meghan, but another baby in the family, people. Do you get the magnitude of that? Things are going to change! And this time, Spencer and Meghan can be there to play Big Cousins. It's going to be the most awesome thing.

I'd better start to get ready for this show. I'm grinning ear to ear.

I hadn't been to POE before...I find it amusing that they have an entire SECTION dedicated to Rose, but *you* are supposedly "uppity"? This from a site dedicated to being as unapologetically mean as you want? Heh.

Congrats on your cousin's upcoming adoption! That's so awesome. :) I know several people who got to adopt and how it enriched their lives and the lives of their families.

Yeah, very true. I took a peek over there, and they have said some really evil things about her, worse than anything I could have said. But I guess that asking to send money to charity and not to some whiney babysitter is "uppity." Cool. ^_^
