Today I got my Christmas bonus, which was mindblowing. In the card, my boss wrote: "'A'ohe lokomaika'i i nele i ka pana'i." It means, roughly, "no kind heart goes unrewarded," but I think he meant it in terms of, "no good work goes without reward." That was such a nice thing for him to say, because I know often the kennel people feel unappreciated a lot of the time. Not only that, but he took the time to look up something in Hawaiian. I was so pleased, I was smiling the rest of the day.
Just now, I'm waiting to hear from Mom and Dad letting me know that Uncle Don, Betsy and the kids have arrived. Spencer is staying over, and his mom is coming to pick him up tomorrow afternoon. Meghan can't stay because she's been sick. She's always had severe asthma, but now they've got her on allergy shots every week. Thing is, though, she is allergic to the befrigged allergy shots, and now has to carry around an adrenaline kit. She had to inject herself last week. I just hate doctors, you know? If she was my kid, I'd take her off the stupid allergy shots and try something else, something natural. I'll bet it would work. I hate to think of Meghan--my Meghan, my goddaughter--having all that kind of stress to deal with. She's just a kid.
But hopefully she'll be feeling fine tonight, and we can all have dinner, and I can make gingerbread men or something stupid like that. I've got all their gifts stacked up and ready to bring with me.
I'm so peeved that the Kung Fu academy is closed until next year. >_> Well actually, they are open tonight, and Tristan is teaching, but I obviously won't be there, now will I?
I picked up my new glasses today. Lala. I haven't had new frames since about six years ago, after I got into Final Fantasy VIII and tried to get frames like the ones Quistis wore. I must still be in the same place mentally, because I got another pair of Quistis glasses. Sad, huh?
THis all actually put me in the mood to play FFVIII. But I can't, though, because Haku chewed my PS2 cord. >_> Little monstrosity.
Ooh, I think everyone's here.
