Huh, according to someone named ginmar, virgins over thirty do not have the same rights as women who have had sex.

Isn't that just odd? I wonder why. Penii apparently have some sort of human-rights giving super power in them. Who knew? I'm going to have to study this revelation a bit more closely. Anyone want to offer theirs up for uhh, research purposes? ;D

Seriously, though, I'm so sick of people hating on women for the choices they've made. If she does it, she's a slut and not to be taken seriously. If she doesn't, then apparently she is also not to be taken seriously. Her right to have an abortion or not is always being discussed by men in huge buildings who will never meet her. She's always getting raped, but hey, look at the way she was dressed! She was probably asking for it.

So sick of it. Here I am, thoroughly enjoying being a female, but some people just keep hating on us and telling us how we may or may not think and what we may or may not do just because we don't happen to have a willy. I do not grasp this "logic."

Ahh, Min! That's where I'd heard Ginmar's name before. Yeah, come to think of it, it's starting to come back to me. I think I enjoyed a post that I saw on Min's f-list once or twice. But the thing is, everyone has lines that they think shouldn't be crossed, and one of mine is this idea that women's bodies are not their own, and goddamnit, why does everyone need to have an opinion on what she does or doesn't do with it? It's hard for me to be a fan of someone who thinks like that. It kind of negates anh good thing she might have said.

Oh, hell, maybe she went off her meds or something. ;D

I remember her as margin...she used to post back on the Voyboard, although not that often, I think. Of course, that was back when the board was for nothing but badfic discussion, so I guess she didn't have quite as much opportunity to go insane. I don't think she ever registered at the new board, although she did post there mostly as margin too. It was only later that I learned that the name was reversed as ginmar everywhere else (I wonder which name came first?).

The saddest thing about her last foray into GAFF was that we lost a really good, intelligent poster - bill+randomnumbers - because of her ridiculous ranting and accusations of sexism. I kind of miss that guy...he was so nice that she actually managed to make him feel bad over things he had posted, even though they had been completely logical, level-headed, fair, and not sexist.

Yeah, margin/ginmar claims to be a rabid feminist and would accuse anyone who wasn't as rabid as she was of not being a true feminist...and then she pulls that wacko crap about virginity? The hell? I'm going to nth the off her meds or possible PTSD diagnoses here for why she's nuttier than normal. She's always been batshit about her form of feminism, but holy crap.

Odd you should mention that. Just before as I was cleaning, I was thinking about her furious "HAVE YOU BEEN TO IRAQ IF NOT THAN STFU!!!!!!!" thing, and all of a sudden it occurred to me just how much something like that often screws someone up. I don't know ginmar at all, aside from this bit of sexist nonsense that got me going, but it's safe to surmise that PTSD could be at the root of this. If so, then I just feel badly. And I hate Bush more than I did yesterday, if possible.

I exchanged a few PMs with Bill some time afterward.

He's had too much real life, and relatively little free time to waste at GAFF. (And let's face it, GAFF is fun, but it is a timewaster.) I also give him a copy of ginmar's dossier. He knows that ginmar is just... excitable. He's not afraid of her, though I recall that he was impressed that the kind folks at Fandom Wank have not one, but two Laws named after her.

I've missed Bill, too, but I think that in an odd way, he was actually looking forward to her next intrusion before he stopped coming by.

(I'm still disappointed that she mentioned only him, and not me, in her LJ that one time. All that hard work I put in, and she doesn't mention me?)

Well, I'm glad it wasn't only her that drove him off, then...I do remember him editing out his posts because he had said something that had offended her somehow, and the rest of us were like "gah! Why did you get rid of your posts? They rocked!"

He was still really cool.
