I won't say it hasn't been stressful, because it has. All yesterday and through the entire night Haku had blowout diarrhea, and what was worse, I couldn't get him to eat a thing. He threw up twice at around 3 AM. I took him outside on the leash, cleaned his crate while holding him, then put him back in there. He was quiet, but all night I was half awake, being afraid that he would starve to death during the night. Then, I figured he would eat in the morning. When he didn't, I got into a panic. When I took him outside (without Trisky and Sano,) he didn't have diarrhea, but when he went, all sorts of sticks and leaves came out. O_o That was at 11 AM and he hasn't crapped again since then. And so now that has me worried. But he did eat, and quite a lot. He wouldn't touch the puppy food. In a panic, I gave him chicken and rice with some canned puppy food, and that's what he ate. I hope it's just a matter of his tummy settling down and trying to regulate.

Meanwhile, Trisky has been calming down a bit. Today she bullied him, and I sort of let her bark at him, because I know it's a dog thing. She wasn't hurting him, just getting in his face and barking. He would sit there and shake, but I didn't want to discipline her for doing what she's supposed to do. He's the new kid. She's the Queen. I guess he's just got to learn that so there are no fights when he's bigger.

Sano, though? Sano became a man yesterday. ;D Not only does he tolerate Haku, he seems to actively like him. All he wants to do is sniff the puppy and run with him. Today in the yard he got all worked up and decided to run around like a mad dog. He ende dup running into the puppy, who cried and ran away, right into my arms, and then kept crying, he was so afraid. Sano actually felt bad. He looked really guilty, then went to sit by my Dad, and licked him. Then he checked out the puppy, and then he ran up the stairs to go inside. Sano never asks to go inside. I think he thought everyone was going to be mad at him. But I told him I knew it was an accident and it was all right. The funny thing was, Trisky ran away, too, like, "Hey, it wasn't me! This has nothing to do with me!"

As long as Haku doesn't try to run anywhere when Trisky's outside, they don't have an issue. In a few months (weeks, maybe?) Haku will be big enough not to get run over by her, or confident enough to run with her, and I think they'll work it out.

I'm a stressful person, so I'm probably making everything into a bigger deal than it is. I'm Trisky in human form. (Trisky is like my dog soul; we're so alike.) I worry all day, Am I doing right by everyone? Will Trisky stay mad at me? Am I being fair to everyone? Did I forget to do anything with Pendragon or the birds? Did I neglect anything else? And I go from worrying one second about whether or not my dog will crap (by this time I almost hope he does go in his crate tonight; if he doesn't, I'm taking him to the Dr. tomorrow,) to being thrilled with this pack of dogs. Then back to worrying again. It's just that I haven't had a puppy since I was five. I'm not sure what they do. Haku had the hiccups after eating and I freaked otu at first before I realized what it was. >_>

Anyway, but it hasn't been all stressful, though. Because, after all, it's a little white puppy, puppy, and the cuteness is overwhelming.

Much beauty.

Anyway, so last night while all the dogs slept, Meghan and I sort of forced my parents to watch Advent Children. My Mom liked it, and my Dad, though impressed by the art and animation, had to go into their room to watch some kind of special boxing match that was on. Meghan loved Advent Children, maybe even as much as I did. She completely fangirled out over it. She completely got all the in jokes and game references, got all the cookies and fanservice that Squenix dished out for us. And she thought that Bahamut Sin was the bomb, and that Reno is hot. The subtitles didn't work all the time for some odd reason, and I had to do my best to translate from memory and from the very few Japanese words that I do know.

Then today, again while the dogs slept, Meghan and I watched Last Order. Then we took the dogs out, then played a little FFVII just because it still rocks. She's turned out to be such a great kid. I do miss my Spencer, though. Haven't seen him in like two months. What the hell is that about?!

Oh, so anyway, I'm trying to think up a good group name for my pack of dogs. When I got Sano, I was toying with the idea of calling the dogs Gunslingers (so that I could say, "Gunslingers, to me!" when I wanted them both to come with me.) It didn't work out, and they answer collectively to "guys" or "you guys" now. That's boring. It might be hard to reteach them, but I want to call them all some other group name. Tonight I had the crazy idea of calling them Magic Ninjas. "Magic Ninjas, come!" But that's just as silly as "Gunslingers." ;) It'll probably just be "you guys" as usual.

So, that was this weekend! Wish us luck!

Ah, I wondered. We got our dogs when they were six weeks. Haku is a different breed, but there still seemed to be some age difference.

Does he sleep a whole lot? From what I remember of little puppies, they always tend to play for an hour, then sleep for an hour, lather rinse repeat. What's more, when they're ready to nap, they just conk out wherever they are, no matter what they're doing. So cute!

He does actually follow that pattern. I hope he can sleep through the night tonight, though. He ran all over the creation today.

Most breeders won't give up their pups before 8 weeks, and some until 12. They need to learn those dog skills from their parents and litter mates, and apparently that extra few weeks makes a world of difference. Even at nine weeks, he's not very confident. I hope he does gain some confidence, though. My two other dogs are pretty neurotic. ;)

Oh yeah, now that I think on it, it was seven or eight weeks. I forgot.

Well, it's funny how dogs apparently establish pack and all...of course, right now is the only time we've ever owned more than one dog at once. But our younger female definitely sees our older male as the dominant one, even though he's a pretty placid guy. But yeah, he's in charge. It's funny because she wants him to go everywhere with her and she doesn't like to go outside without him. But sometimes he doesn't feel like it, so she'll come and whine to us as if asking us to make him go outside with her.

Ha! My dogs do almost the same thing. Except, when Sano wants to go out, he'll usually go and get Trisky, as if asking her to ask me to take them out. :)

Sweet beautiful boy!! And sweet, sweet Sano. You know, I think girl dogs in general are more vicious and territorial, and slow to adapt to other dogs/people. Completely anecdotal evidence, of course.

AH, well, Sano growled at him before when Haku got into Sano's bed with his toy.

Girl dogs can be sort of pissy. Intact male dogs, though... *shudder* I'm going to neuter this boy the day he is six months old.
