Honestly, the quick, shoddy coloring job is the only coloring job I can do. Background and stuff? Forget it. But I was bored and snowed in, so, there it is.
The way they glow, it appears as if they are standing near a fire. I think it's very nice.
You shouldn't deny or downplay your style. You color like you're using watercolors, and it works. Don't fight it! Maybe everything is smooth and non-patterned in your world, you know?
Yeah, I was trying to do a fire glow effect. I learned how to do it and now I can't seem to stop. ^_^
Thank you! Hey, maybe I do see everything smooth like that; I never thought of it before. I probably couldn't draw an actual structure for the life of me, and I'm in awe that you do that all the time.
Just wanted to add that I really like the lighting as well. But the guy in front (sorry, I forget who is who. ^^;), his eyes and eyebrows look unnaturally slanted.
Yes, I try to draw everyone in his family, but specifically this character, with slanted and arched eyebrows, and I tend to go nuts and overdo it. I will keep that in mind. :) Mahalo!
The colours and lighting look good over all... and uh... hey, that chest hair is like mine, WTF? @_@
There shouldn't be as much lighting on both fellows' right arms, however. That's a tighter curve than his shirt. If the lighting is from closer to the front, then it's the shirt that should have more lighting. Something like that. Just keep track of your sources of light, and shade appropriately
