Kung Fu was great, we did self defense blocking, the movements of which are very fast, and very similar to Hula Kahiko. I felt like I caught on to that fairly well because the movements were very familiar to me.

The ride home wasn't great in the least. Where the hell are the snowplows? None of the roads are done, and the North Road was packed snow over a sheet of ice. I could only have been going 30 MPH or so when my car spun completely out and I ended up going sideways down the road. I don't even know what song was playing, just that Snoop had just ended. But I didn't jam on the breaks or anything, I just tried to get control back without whipping the steering wheel around, up until the telephone pole started coming up real fast. (There was a tree somewhere in the scenario, and a street sign, and I was very aware of them at the time, but now I can't even begin to rememeber where they were in relation to me.) Then I did try to turn gently the other way, and ended up skidding the other way down the road. I figured the least that would happen would be that my back end would smack into the telephone pole. Then I guessed I would cry and be horrified because my car had been hurt and might never be the same, but I would still be okay, and somewhere in the stupid, snarky part of my mind a voice is going, "You thought you had whiplash yesterday?" I remember I looked in the rearview mirror to see where the telephone pole was, but it was just a cloud of snow and ice, and then I fishtailed out of control for a second or so which felt like an hour, and then I just sort of let the car slide to a stop and edged it onto the side of the road. The guy behind me pulled over in front of me and got out of the car going, "Jesus Christ, are you all right?"

(whatwouldjackiedo)

"All good!" I yelled, and gave the thumbs up sign out my window.

But I was too scared to get on the bridge road going home, because nothing was plowed or sanded, so I had to go all the way through town, which also wasn't plowed or sanded, but at least had more cars on it which made it more slushy than icy. I was so mad that when I did see a snowplow on the road--just sitting there on the side of the goddamned road!--I yelled obscenities at the truck.

Scary.

Dude, way glad you're all right. And that the guy was nice enough to check on you. Maybe you can hook up some chains for your wheels, sounds like you need them.

I think you need to make a WWJD bracelet. I would buy one. ;)

Thanks! I usually have traction, for some reason, this one time, it didn't go on. O_o

For now the icon will have to suffice. ^_^

That's it. You MUST move to california. It's January and the weather's been sunny mild 70degrees here.
We'll have margaritas and watch Quills over and over.

Margaritas and Quills with you sounds like heaven. We could watch Joaquin with his long hair and thousand yard stare, and be awkwardly fascinated with Geoffrey Rush's willie. ^_^

WAAAH! I'm marooned at work. And Jason has spent close to 5 hours on the road just trying to get to me. I just want him with me safe, even if we have to sleep in my office!

Dang, I'm glad to hear you're all right. Boy, am I glad we don't get much snow and ice here....there was an ice storm in Portland this week, I hear, but today and yesterday it's been up to 65 degrees around here. Gah. Crazy January weather...

But be careful! I mean, I know you know that, but...scary indeed!
