Just have to document: Tetsuya Nomura To Announce Widely Requested Game Next Year.
In an interview with Japanese gaming magazine Gomega, Tetsuya Nomura, father of Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy stylist, and co-conspirator on lots of other Square-Enix titles, promised a game that is highly requested by fans - some personally requested it from him, and the reaction he expects from the announcement is downright huge. So, which is it? Kingdom Hearts III? A remake of the biggest Final Fantasy ever, VII? Well, either way, the huge array of fans will be rejoicing!
I put my bets on the Final Fantasy VII remake.
If so, consider my pants peed.
Work this weekend went more hoppingly than I'd thought it would. People were strange on both days though, with weird questions and requests. Two people today wanted different colored bags for the stuff they were buying. WTF, dogs don't even seen in color. And yesterday this lady told me that she'd been using the food and was really happy with it, up until about four weeks ago when all of a sudden her dog's hair had become really staticky. I asked her if, by chance, she had started using heat in her home and she said that she had. Well, there ya go. The food's not electric.
After work I came home to a nice email from the Lady Chrysanthemum saying that she was just checking up on Mom and I, and an hour-long phone call from the Gold Dragon asking how we were doing over the holidays. I swear this is one of the only people to whom I can cheerfully speak on the phone for that long (aside from my brother and maybe a friend or two.) I hate phone calls, but somehow don't hate them when he's cracking my crap up about getting stuck on a snowy hill in his little car or something like that.
Today this older guy came in to buy fish and we were talking about his tank, and he said it was way too much work. He hated the tank, hated the fish, and everything to do with it. I asked him why he kept it and he said that he didn't actually want it anymore and I could have it. Tank, filter, lights, fish and all. Then he proceeded to buy three more fish and tell me “These are only going to be yours!” I gave him my card and he said his son would call me. Weird, for sure, but how cool would that be? I've been wanting a fish tank for a long time and just can't afford one, and have been checking Craig's List and free sites to no avail. It's funny because I put to the universe that I wanted a nice fishtank and some cool fish. We'll see.
Later in the day this lady came in with her young son and we started talking about scorpions because her kid wanted one. She was real nice but I couldn't really answer all of her questions and I pointed to the nice-looking manager I mentioned here on my first day and said, “That good-looking guy over there can answer your questions better than I can.” She said, “He is good-looking, isn't he? Why don't you go get him?” I laughed and told her that it was crazy, he's way out of my league anyway. (And TBH I really don't want to “get him” or even date him or anything. I really just find him nice to look at and sweet.) She gave me this epic speech about “But that's crazy, he's beautiful, you're beautiful, you're both tall and thin and good looking so what's the problem, just go get him!” while I stood there sputtering. I don't know what to say when people throw that word around at me. I told her it didn't matter anyway because it wasn't going to happen and she said, “That's because it's what you're telling the universe. If you keep going 'I'm not beautiful and so I won't 'get the guy,' then that's how it's going to go. Ask the universe, 'I want a hot guy, please!'” (Her exact words.)
I laughed and told her about the fish tank.
Truth be told, I'm so done asking the universe to serve men up to me. And I really don't want this "settle down and get married" thing.
Universe, I want a three book deal. (Therefore, back to querying and this goddamn annoying, hateful synopsis. WRITING IS FUN.)
Oh, also, one more thing. Universe, I want to go to China Town this Chinese New Year and have seriously the best time ever.
Yup, I will totally take those two things from you.
And a FFVII remake.
And to go to Japan.
And a baby, someday.
And a hundred million dollars.
