NYC adventures but not really

Today I went to visit my uncle; his operation went really well. We stayed there for a while, and then went out to dinner with my brothers, and mo one brother's wife. It was kind of amazing because I hadn't seen my brother Gary in almost ten years, and when I saw him today he looked exactly the same as when I'd last seen him. True story: I think he was even wearing the same clothes. It's like the people in my family don't age, or age really slowly. It's creepy.
We had a fascinating, awesome conversation about what a moronic sociopath Bush is. When we went out to dinner, the skies went dark and it poured. I've been in the city quite a few times in the last few years, but I've never seen a thunderstorm like this out there. It was almost like when we get them out here. I mean, you could hear the thunder over the sound of Manhattan.
And check it: I totally met CHAZZ PALMINTERI. And by "met" I mean, "stood behind in the elevator and became totally flustered." The dude is way, way taller than I thought, he looks a lot younger in person, and he totally knew that I was standing behind him thinking "OMG THE USUAL SUSPECTS IS TEH BESTEST MOVIE EVER!!!" It was funny, I saw him in the hall and I recognized him from like a one-quarter view and I elbowed my Mom and was like, "MA! *whisper whisper* CHAZZ PALMINTERI!" She was like, "No, really, come on. Where?" I'm like, "right frigging there!" Then we went in the elevator with us and it was dead silence. Eventually he turned around and gave me that really famous smirk like, Okay, I know that you know that I know that you know. And I was like, *giggle blush*
So that was pretty decent too. :)
Though I kept waiting for him to discover me and he didn't. Ah well!

Date: 2008-06-29 05:29 pm (UTC)Hold up, Gerard and Cokey were with him? Oh my god, I'm gonna need some details, my lass. ^_^ You've already met Cokey, by the way; DJed for her band's CD release. O_O

Date: 2008-06-29 05:43 pm (UTC)The little smiley guy i ran into was with a skinny black chick with a cute afro. The other dude was with a chick i would describe as a coked-out skag, but not anyone i have ever met before. She was tall, with a badly-growing-out bleach job, like 2" of bad roots. That's all i know. I don't listen to or know the band beyond that folks on my flist are fans of them, so i am not even sure it was them; there are probably tons of guys in NYC who shop for shoes in Soho who resemble them.

That's Frank (http://miamiink.contentquake.com/files/2007/10/grandpa2.jpg) and is he seriously tattoed and seriously nice and smiley. If you ran into him then you will have good luck for seven years. ;)
