I guess I have some catching up to do.

Well, I should post about the KF party last Sunday, which was awesomely fun. It was at the Sonoma which is next to the other school, and this year it was mostly other-school brothers and sisters who showed up. Hardly anyone from our school did. From our school it was just Chris, Lee and her husband, and Raq. From the other school it was: Some people I didn't know but were all really nice; Alex--whom I'd met quite a few times--a fifteen year old instructor whose wit and vervacity utterly surprised me; Mike, a hardcore, bald, scarred, intense instructor in his mid to late 30's who sings in an equally hardcore band on the side and promised to get me tattooed; and of course Tristan.

As per usual, I spent most of my time with Chris and Raq early in the night. I hadn't seen any of them since the beginning of last month and Chris asked where the hell I had been. I told him, and as I did so, I realized how hard it all has really sucked dead goats. "My dog died of bone cancer really suddenly. I busted my knee pretty badly and one of the stupid radiologists gave me a bone cancer scare for about a week. I knew it wasn't true, but it was still ridiculous. I still have to go for an MRI. Then the guy I was dating up and ditched me the day before Christmas Eve without a word as to why."

After I said that all in one breath, I laughed, and Chris laughed too.

Sifu got a new mook-jong, presented to him outside of the restaurant.

Much to the amusement, confusion and / or consternation of passers-by.

The food was awesome. Everyone loved my socks. Tristan had forgotten to put dessert on the menu, so at the end of the night, he bought some for Raq and I. We split the dessert with Chris and Alex, just the four of us at our corner of the table eating two huge bowls of brownies and ice cream.

I don't know if Alex was sugar-rushing or what, but I saw a whole different side to this usually quiet and studious instructor. Everything he said though, was perfectly timed and hilarious. There was this other kid there, a younger student from the other school who kept daring Alex to pour whipped cream on Mike's head (we both assured him that Mike would probably eat his face if he did,) and complaining about all the sugar and processed foods we were eating. Then he went on to complain about how robots and technology were taking over the world and nothing was natural anymore. I just remember at one point Alex threatened to feed him processed, bleached sugar with a robot arm before throwing him at Mike. By the end of the night the rest of us had laughed so hard that we were in tears. My face actually hurt by the time I left for home.

I went back to Kung Fu on Wednesday. Everyone else had been away for ten days because we were closed for the holiday. I'd been away about 25 days. I knew it was going to be hard, and I wasn't wrong, but it was good hard, most of it. Disappointingly I lost a few inches off my straddle-split and could not get my head to my knees. In class we did drills, both long and short range punching attacks and kicking. The kicking was a little hard because my left knee feels all wobbly and unstable and I had trouble shifting around. The twisting stances were getting to me. But more than that, I actually got tired, which is, WTF? I was actually a little out of breath, which never happens to me.

It was awesome.

On Thursday I was working with the new girl. Then again on Friday. Ummm, all I will say is this: I have been there for almost nine years and I don't respond well to, hell, even suggestions on how to do my job from someone who has thus far worked a total of eight hours.

Anyway, then there was today, which was another endless Friday. Bums me out so hard because I used to love Fridays. The Jenns got me through it by joking with me endlessly. And Kellies, too. Oh, but the day was off to a flying start this morning. I had meant to bring my dogs in for baths today (it still feels so wrong to be saying "dogs" and only meaning the two boys,) but oddly, I forgot them. O_O I didn't actually remember that i had wanted to bring them until I was about five miles from work and I saw a yellow lab crossing the main highway, cars dodging him and crap. He made it across onto my side and I pulled over thinking I was going to have to chase him down. Instead, he came tail-wagging up to my car door. I didn't even have to get out. I reached behind me, opened the back door on the passenger's side, and the dude hopped right in like, "Hey. Thanks for the lift." Made himself totally at home. I knew that I knew the dog, too. It had a really silly face:

Seriously, could you forget a face like that?

Later in the day the shelter came to pick him up and he (who actually ended up being a she,) was reunited with her family. So that was pretty sweet. It's just odd that of all days to forget my dogs, it was today. If I'd had them with me I could not have stopped to pick up this doggie. Funny, huh?

I miss my Boychild. I haven't seen him since Wednesday; that is far too long.

Eeee! And i never eeeee over babies. :D

Your last few weeks/months have sucked ass. I am so sorry. :( Nowhere to go but up, yes?

I just remember at one point Alex threatened to feed him processed, bleached sugar with a robot arm before throwing him at Mike.

I totally LOLed at this.

Also, random misreading:

In class we did drills, both long and short rage punching attacks and kicking.

I thought, after your trials of late, you probably needed some rage punching. Then i reread.

That is one funny-looking dog.

I'm the same way, with most babies I'm like MEH. I could take 'em or leave 'em. This one's different.

Yeah, I could really go for some rage punching, honestly. If I'm going to punch some bitches, I get to choose the target; I don't do that random stuff. This will be methodical, controlled rage. ^_^
