Where I've been

See, the thing is, I've been writing, actually, fully writing! It's been frustrating, fun, hideous, awesome, and all that stuff that writing usually is for me. A big part of the frustration is that I had to get a new keyboard and mouse. (I got a gift certificate to Best Buy so I got a nice wireless set, but the mouse is all kinds of crazy and won't go where I tell it. This makes writing a little frustrating. I'm also not used to the keyboard. Grr. But the keyboard is really just swell.) Anyway, I did a whole bunch of chapters. They suck, but you know what, they're done. ANd I have to remind myself that someday, this mojo will fade, too, and I'll probably stress about it. I also have to remind myself that it will come back.
Today was my cousin's kid's first birthday party, and it was really nice. My other cousin (Chrissie, of, well, Chrissie and Tim fame,) hosted it at their house, which, my god, is glorious. And she made a cake that was the bomb. It was odd in a way, because one of her close friends is this girl we used to babysit--and by "we" I mean mostly Chris and sometimes me--and now she's grown with an adorable kid of her own. This is weird for me, and it's got to be weird for Chrissie, too. Anyway, I ended up spendng a lot of time playing Twilight Princess with my cousin's oldest kid, and that was fun, too.
Yesterday I had Tai Chi really early, followed by Hula. In Hula we made our yearly resolutions. God, it seems like we're becoming the All Keali'i Reichel, All The Time halau. Not that I don't adore Keali'i and all of his tremendous works, but still. I guess it's a shift from when we were the All Sonny Ching, All The Time halau. We also decided that it was time to start working on some hulas of our own creation. And guess what? I think I'm going to, at some point given enough time and impetous, make my own Kahiko hula. I think I'll use a mele by Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu, because he's so forward-thinking, he pretty much said he'd be all right with that. Plus, his music is totally hot.
I feel like cam-whoring. Sifu asked me to do the sword form in an upcoming tournament, and, well, I've totally lost the sword form so I think I'll probably hae to turn him down, because I know I'm not ready. But it got me thinking of the sword form and all, and of that weird, hidden part of me who is the "Goth Kung Fu Assassin" as Sifu says, and it made me want to cam-whore. I might pic-spam later. Deal.
flamingchords, I had a bizarre dream about you last night and I was going to post it, but then I thought that maybe you might find that rude or invasive. Nothing rude or, uhh, invasive as it were actually happened in the dream, but still. Figured I'd put it out there first. God, but it was weird.
Anyway, I'm going to get back to this one chapter before I take the Ninja Wizards outside. Then maybe, who knows? Pic spam? Could be!

Date: 2007-01-08 05:14 am (UTC)Okay, if you don't mind. The weird thing is that your name was the same Hawaiian name it was in that first dream. We were at a hotel somewhere in the midwest, and you had cut your hair. There were other people in the hotel room but I don't know who they were. You and I were on a bed with scratchy sheets, and the TV was on; it was some sports game. I wanted to change the channel and I reached for the TV (it was old fashioned, remember we used to have to actually turn a knob on the TV?!) but I couldn't reach it because the bed we were on was like ten feet high. There were lots of matresses piled up, almost to the ceiling, and that's what we were on. I could look down and see all the other people on much lower beds.
I went back to lying on the bed and I turned to say something to you and you shoved your hand under my back. I thought, "Oh! Well ... okay then..." And then you pulled this rubber ball out from under me and said, "Wasn't that making you uncomfortable?" (I swear, I must have had a lump in my pillow or something.) I said that it had been, now that you mentioned it. Then you said that it was one of those de-stressing balls that you scrunch in your hand. You said you needed one to take out your frustration, because work was driving you crazy.
And then I woke up and said, "WTF was that?!"
Weird, huh?

Date: 2007-01-08 05:33 am (UTC)And actually, I didn't quite "find" it. It's in my memories. I have a folder for LJ entries in which I appear in other people's dreams. (As I said, it happens quite a bit, and I do attach some kind of significance to it, though I haven't figured out why.)

Date: 2007-01-08 12:05 pm (UTC)I don't know why this sounds so entertaining but it does. I'm sure you definitely figure prominently in the dreams of the author of that novel with capital letters but I wasn't aware of your Hypnos-fu as far as other online acquaintances go. Now I feel left out. :-)
WWoEE
(Can I re-friend you? I changed journals to mark a new chapter (hah, chapter, novel more like it) in my life and I'm still catching up.)

Date: 2007-01-08 07:53 pm (UTC)She claims someone was online stalking her but I think it was the fact that HBI listed her journal in their Sappy Site that made her go into hiding. As Cthulhu is my witness, I didn't submit it to them. :-)
