la_belle_laideSifu told me tonight that he's pleased with the work I do at the school (he added that he might ask me to teach a class here and there!) and in return, he is waiving the rest of my fee. Did everyone hear that? I get to train for free. Forever.
And tomorrow is the dolphin program meeting. I hope very much indeed that this string of luck continues. (*knock wood!*)
So tonight in class we didn't do a lot of really hard stuff, which in a way was a blessing because my knee is a little twingey. But here's something that went on during warmups that still has me giggling like a fool. For some reason, there was a square of masking tape on the mirror. Just a waist-high square, about the size of the TV screen, and I wondered aloud why it was there, and I commented that it looked like Chris C, who was standing in front of it, was on TV. Chris said, "Yeah, but it's only my groin area that's on TV." And then he goes, "COMIN' AT YOU LIVE! CGTV!" The joke went on from there, and everyone was laughing, then they moved onto other funny things. But about 20 minutes later, I was still laughing about that one comment. Then in the car on the way home, I was still laughing. And right now, I'm still laughing. And you know, in the re-telling, it's really not that hilarious. I don't know what's wrong with me, but after things have long since stopped being funny to others, I'm still in hysterics over it. I'm like a pit-bull with The Funny.
Ahh, let's see, then in black-belt club we really didn't do much of anything. The guys ended up doing lots of stretching, and Mitzi, Raquel and I just started doing cartwheels and dive-rolls and headstands and all kinds of nonsense like that. Then at the end of the class we ran through Small Wheel a few times just to have something to do. It was raining, so we couldn't go outside to do sword. A weird class.
