I love having Mondays off. I'm waiting for my Mom and Gran to get ready so we can go out traipsing. (Where "traipsing" = "shopping.") I always get nervous before I spend a lot of money (and by a lot, I mean probably like $70-$100 or so,) but I also get excited, because I get this weird satisfaction out of getting things I need, or things that will make my house or yard more organized. I need a rake. A big, metal rake.
I was looking for one yesterday and I was going to borrow one from my Dad. He told me, "there's one in the shed, but you'll have to wait for me to get it. It's dangerous. It'll bounce out at you." I had no idea what he was talking about, but the image of a rake bouncing out of the shed like it was on a pogo stick or something stuck with me, and it's still hilarious. I thought about it again this morning and I laughed until I had tears in my eyes. Anyway, there was no metal rake after all, although my Mom still insists there must be one somewhere.
Jeremy got a job at the garden department of -----------, which is great, because hopefully I can get him to get garden stuff for me at a discount and then I can give him the money. It's good to have friends in high places. ;) Also, he'll be working with my other bestest friend's brother in law.
I went outside three times so far today: to walk the puppy, to walk the puppy again, and to take the garbage out. And all three times, the air smelled like dog crap. I don't know why; it's not like there's a lot of it around. I mean, four dogs in one yard, yeah, but the yard is pretty clean. Yet today the whole entire air smells like it. Usually the air around here smells like soil and the beach (salt water beach within a quarter mile north, salt water swamp a quarter mile east, and the ocean about seven miles south,) so this is perplexing. Maybe someone's sewer backed up or something horrifying like that.
30 minutes later, after debating which Buffy season I should buy with my nice new 30% discount at Borders ... Hmmm, two, or five? I started watching regularly in season 5, but I missed the first few and I don't seem to have them on tape. And I've never seen season 2. I hear 2 is good. Spike, mmmm.
I wrote up a Hula resume the other day. It's actually pretty impressive, jeez. We've got a few shows lined up, one I think for a week and a half from now although I have no idea about the details or if we're even going to do it after all. And if we do, what Hulas will we do? No idea. Completely unprepared.
Oh well, better get ready to go out.
