la_belle_laideMy already boring day is now totally ruined due to the death of Maureen Stapleton, one of my most favorite actresses to quote from one of my most favorite movies (Johnny Dangerously.) She was just all around cool and she always looked like my Grandma.
Yeah, today is pretty dull so far, but there is the opening of the new Green Cloud tonight, and that will be interesting and fun. It's weird to have been away from Kung Fu for so long, and I wonder how long it will take me to get back in the groove--this includes driving there three or four times a week right after dinner (or after Hula, on Saturdays.) We are on the second floor with lots of windows. I hope no one gets chucked out. O_o
Got some pics developed today, bought a few things (breakfast bars, a candle, suet for the birds, betta food,) and noticed the beginning of the Bad Driving Season already when someone stopped in the middle of the traffic circle to try to let someone pass. This can only be a non-local. If you live here, you know that it's illegal to stop in the middle of the circle. But people coming out from the city sometimes aren't aware of this. And yes, now that you mention it, it is their fault, because really they should just be staying home instead of clogging up the roads. Then down on 105 today, all the traffic just suddenly stopped and got jammed up. I was getting impatient because at first it looked like two hooligans in front had just stopped to chat, but then I saw the real reason: a full-grown swan crossing the road. (105 is flanked by swampland.)
Yesterday was kind of fun, though. Jeremy came over and I bought some bling from him. I didn't expect to, but A) I know he really needs the money and B) I really loved the jewelry pieces. Then we set down for a quick game of Soul Calibur II, which turned into a 7 or so hour game. I had played that game when it first came out and gotten pretty far, but then either lost or erased my memory card before I got to really use any of the characters or weapons I had won. Did you know that the winnable character Sophitia has a grabbing move that is, uhh, somewhat different from the others? I found this out last night when I was playing her against Link. She grabbed him, wrapped her legs around his neck, and sat right down on his face. Jeremy and I just about died laughing when we saw that. Everytime I played Sophitia after that it was just my mission to get her to sit on everyone's face. That's just not right. I wish I could find a screenshot of that.
I have to admit that it does irk me a little how this game is sort of geared towards men. You can undress most of the female characters (or, in other words, their costume changes are just basically stripping them down,) but the only male character who actually loses clothes in a costume change (that I know of so far,) is Kilik, and that's just just stupid cape. The only really prominent package in the game belongs to Voldo, and that's hardly something anyone wants to see, right?
Well, this post became pointless after the first few words, so I suppose I should wrap up now and be about my business around the house.
