Saluki rescue
Sep. 27th, 2006 01:42 pmI know a few of you have asked me about Salukis in the past. While I doubt that was any kind of "OMGs I want one!" thing, just in case any of you do, well, this beauty needs a home. She is a pretty, five year old, cream principesa. I can only imagine that the woman who has to give her away is heartbroken.
Salukis aren't for everybody. They require a yard for running and they don't like to be left alone or crated for a long time. They're devious and they know how to think around the corner. They're tempermental, snooty, don't come when called unless they really feel like it, and most of them don't jump all over you and shower you with devotion. (Although Haku is actually very affectionate.) If you can handle all of that, they are really the best dogs ever. If I didn't already have three dogs, I'd take this one.
The current owner says that this girl's mother got sick and was euthanized at five years old, but she doesn't say what the illness was. That's also something to consider.
I really wonder if there's anyone on my f-list who would actually be interested. :)
