Tomorrow is the day, then. I have to bring Jimmy to meet his new person at Spiritdog. Jimmy and I are leaving right from work, and we're going to meet the guy somewhere close to Exit 62 or so. It's going to kill me, because everytime I take Jimmy for a walk, he tries to get into my car. He has no idea that this car ride will be our last one together.
The guy is really confident that he can win Jimmy over, too. I asked, will Jimmy be in the back of your truck? He said, nope, in the front. I said, should I bring a muzzle? He said, nope, no muzzle. I couldn't possibly have been clearer: the dog wants to bite people, and he's a 90 pound shepard. He said, it's all good. I choose to believe that. His confidence gives me confidence, and if, tomorrow, he walks right up to Jimmy and wins him over, I'm going to go home a much happier girl knowing that Jimmy is going with a friend. But it's going to be very, very hard to give him that last hug and say goodbye.
I must be so weird, because I don't even think Jimmy's original owner was so broken up about letting him go.
In unrelated news, I met a cute guy. We decided to email and get to know each other. I'm not going to go all "SQUEE Dark Horse in the running!" like I did last year, because that was silly. I don't like to rush into things, and the guy last year, he was already talking about moving me out to California because that's where he wanted to live, and the three kids I was going to bear him (he had picked the names out--I was to have no say in any of this.) This new guy, I wrote to him to introduce myself. He wrote back in Hawaiian (oooh, honorific possessive on the first email! ;D ) and said he had lived on O'ahu for ten years. Wow, that's pretty cool! Anyway, he seems smart, or at least his email was written well, which, let's face it, is something of a rarity.
Sun is shining, weather is sweet. It was close ot 70 yesterday and I got outside to plant a few things and clean out the fountain. I should find an excuse to be out there again today, maybe rake the yard some more or something, because it's equally gorgeous today. My laundry is done and so is most of the cleaning (I just have yet to do the bathroom.) Tomorrow, Tricia and Kim are supposed to come over. I will have to try to make it back in time from dropping Jimmy off! Then, we're going to try to watch the extended DVD of ROTK. Which means I'm going to have to stop it halfway through so I can tape House while the movie is playing.
I have Kung Fu tonight, and today is really my last day off till Sunday, as I am covering for Casse this week and then have dance class early Saturday. Let's see. Spencer and Meghan are supposed to come over next weekend, and then the weekend after that, a few girl friends and I are going to try to spend the weekend in Montauk. I really hope that works out.
I sketched a dumb drawing yesterday and now I'm trying to color it, but I keep getting frustrated because I keep seeing all these different things wrong with it and have to erase everything and start over. Drawing sucks! I will likely be harassing everyone with another bad drawing soon. Sorry about that.
