Annoying sketches

Bathroom clean, birds fed, sketch officially annoying enough to quit.

It started off like this.




I'm just not good at lips. I hated it, but thought it redeemable.

Eventually I changed it a bit, then colored it like this.




And, I'm just not good at skin tones. Or h air. God, I suck at painting hair! I'm still not happy with the way he came out, but I do like the way she ended up, I guess.

That chick, by the way, is Apala, who I originally tried drawing like this. She's changed a bit since then. I think of all the characters in this story, she's maybe the most tragic. No, okay, not the most, but one of the most.

I also think this is my first try drawing something with two people, something romantic I guess. (Uhh, unless you count this, which I totally don't. O_o;; I'm not good at this romance crap.

Actually, I like the skin tones a lot. Apala's skin and hair look lovely, and her features are also drawn quite well.

The other person looks rather like a feminized Loki. :D

*dies* Loki's quite the cutie, but I certainly didn't mean for a male character to be feminized. Don't worry; I'm not insulted. I need to be aware of these things. ^_^ THank you for your comments and your help!

I messed with his nose quite a while and still wasn't happy with it. I see him as a sort of cross between Kurt Cobain and Ewan McGregor (I love their features so I tried to combine them in a weird way.) I always try very hard to make noses realistic, because if there's one thing that really, really bugs me in most art I see on the internet, it's men and women both with these chibi little snub noses. I hate that, and I especially hate it when men are drawn with those chibi little snub noses. I really thought I had avoided that trap on this one; I was referencing off those two specific faces though. I probably got myself all confused and just messed it up.

I will keep that in mind! Thanks!
