And damn again!

I've been forcing myself to write this story and, as you all know because I have done nothing but whine about it, it's not going well. So, as a diversion, I decided to look over some stuff I haven't looked at in a while, and maybe break one of my own rules and write ahead. I hate writing ahead because when I do it, it's cheating because I'm not happy with what I'm working on and all of this nonsense, but I have to do something, so...

So I decide to review some stuff I started working on for RC3, you know, these little snippets I had written last year, just because I'm in the mood for it. Only...

Damn! Damn! Damn! I seem to have deleted or otherwise lost the entire opening section and all of the rest of the notes.

Now I know that sometime last year, maybe even November or December, I posted the very beginning of RC3 right here on this very journal. It was just a few paragraphs: Hisoka and Lin on the beach. A handful of you might remember that. So I know that I can retrieve that, at least. But the rest of it...? Gone. And the rest of it was notes on Jin's capture and possible escape or possible death, and--while I've had these random scenes in my mind for about two years now--a whole big chunk of dialogue was actually finished and is now gone.

All I can remember is one of Jin's captors asking him, "Gin like the drink?" and Jin deleriously answering, "No, Jin like the night and (blah blah blah dicker blah psychotic hallucinatory rambling that I thought was exceedingly clever at the time...) Jin like the night and everything in it."

Does this sound familiar to anybody? I usually safeguard against random deletion by posting these things somewhere, sometimes in secret, or by emailing them to people I trust who are willing to put up with my crap. I know I'm asking in vain because I'm about 99% sure that I didn't send out or archive any of my notes or this section, but does the "Jin like the night" passage sound even remotely familiar to anyone? And the drugged up slashy make-out scene that came after it?

That doesn't sound quite as, uhh, professional as I'd wanted it to, but if anything will jar anyone's memory, it would be that. ^_^;;

I'm going to go back to searching my HD, but I've been all the hell over it and I'm pretty sure it's gone.

Damn! Damn! And damn again!
