Priceless!

I got bitten by a dog today. The owner of the dog, this really sad, old guy, told me the story of how he came home one night last year and found that his wife had blown her brains out with a 12 gauge shotgun, and until he "saw the mess her head made" he'd thought she'd just fallen down. He really sprung that one on me. Then his dog bit me on the arm while I was distracted. Then this other dog, whose owner had accidentally cut the dog's tongue while trying to cut the hair around her mouth, threw up about a pint of canned dog food (it was chunky Alpo; I could tell,) with about a quart of blood.

"It's a hard day's wages, slaving away for..." Well, for biting and blood-puking dogs. ;D

One large Grandma's pizza: $12.

French bread and cheese, strawberries and chocolate: Who the hell knows? Kim bought it.

Plum wine and other kinds of wine: $40 or so dollars.

Blockbuster rental: $3.99

My two best girlfriends: free, or at least pretty cheap.

Sitting on the floor a few nights before a tremendous storm, getting wasted because their husbands can drive them here and home, making perverted comments and snickering like pre-pubescent brats? Priceless!

Got a Hula show tomorrow, but it's at night so I can afford to sleep in tomorrow morning. Wee!

Priceless!

But toasting "to good friends" without a hint of irony or self-consciousness really is priceless. :)

Drunkenly discussing--while standing outside and watching shooting stars--why America will never have a revolution in our lifetime despite the fact that our young government has gained so much power so freaking quickly, is beyond priceless; it's the stuff of movies. We won't have a revolution because we have too much to lose, like our video game systems and cars and DVDs and computers and Thanksgiving and plenty, and freedom from want. We suffer, but regardless, we're blogging on the internet. We're priveledged.

ExpandIt's dreary... )

Sheik! I almost like this one. I shall never, ever be a Min or a Hwei or a ChocoZell, but once in a while I get by.

And how could I have forgotten for nearly ten years what in incredible and versatile voice Mike Patton has?

And I have to dance tomorrow, and I should go to bed, because on my way to the bathroom before I jammed my toe and almost broke it. Bwah! Idiot!
