la_belle_laideOf course, I completely forgot about the rain forecast for tonight, and I released my four remaining aviary birds today. It was a soft release, in other words, I just left the aviary door open and let them go when and where they wanted. I close it for the night so that critters don't get in, but will reopen it tomorrow morning in case they want to jsut come back and hang out. But I do hate thinking about them out in the rain. Even though it can't hurt them. :/
Anyway, Saturday--aside from getting Haku--was a return to forms week in Kung Fu. We actually haven't done forms in about a month and a half, so it was getting a wee bit frustrating once in a while. So on Saturday, Tristan and I went over the beginning of the second form, which, from what I understood, is the shortest form we'll ever learn, and still one of the most fun. I really enjoyed the beginning of it, and guessed that i was about a quarter of the way through already.
Then, tonight, Sifu said, "You're doing all right with this, might as well go on." And we totally did! He taught me a whole big bunch more moves, all at once, and I basically copied him. The moves were mostly ones we had drilled outside of forms, so I knew a few of them already. (I hope I can remember how they all go together now.) Then Sifu said, "That's about it! The rest is just the closing moves." So, I'm pretty much almost done with the second form, and that is supercool.
Then, after class, we got into a discussion about spiders. Nicolette's Dad mentioned the camel spiders, and I said that it was a hoax, and told them about snopes.com. Sifu got on his laptop and looked it on on snopes.com. He got really into it, finding out stuff about real camel spiders and stuff like that. It was kind of endearing. ^_^
And that was Kung Fu tonight.
Dogs: better. Haku had one accident when my parents were watching him, and nearly went on the kitchen floor before (he refused to go outside because it was pouring.) I caught him in time and we went outside. I didn't let him in until he had gone. It seems a little better tonight. Also, he's been soliciting Trisky and Sano to play. Trisky has basically ignored him, but Sano has vaguely humored him once or twice. (Although, Sano did try to hump him earlier. O_o Sano is confused by many things.)
Tomorrow is work, and I'm taking Haku with me for his puppy wellness checkup. I really, really hope he sleeps through the night. Last night I was up every hour on the hour from two AM till 9, taking him out to go to the bathroom. >_> I really don't want a repeat of that.
