Now that my arms have fallen off...

So yeah! Aerial silk acrobatics. Gave that a shot tonight. Did not go exactly as planned. There was one lady there who was in her 60s or something, and she was flipping all over the place, doing all these crazy pullups, climbing to the ceiling, doing silk-backflips and such. I was like "Well heck, this is like the monkey bars. I can do this."
I did it for like, ten minutes and then I was DONE. Literally could not lift my arms any more after that. The trainer was like "Give it one more try, pull yourself up there" and my arms were like LOL NOPE.
I did get to go upside down and spin around and such. It was fun, and while I was doing it I was like "this is great!" But here's a tip: Don't eat before trying this. Because as soon as I came home, I was like, "Oh, hey pizza, what's up? You still there?"
I also jammed the hell out of my toe. The mat under the silk is very small and I am very tall. I was trying to do the backflip part, (note: even just mentally, this is very hard. I can do back walkovers and backwards tumbles, I can stand on my head and do backbends and I can hang upside down, but something about taking both feet off the ground and flipping over backwards—even supported by silk—just shuts my brain down,) and when I was coming down from the inversion she said "don't let your feet hit the floor too hard." Haha yeah right. At that point, my arms gave up, and I just finished flipping over. Except the mat slipped out from under me and WHAM. Second toe goes *CRACK* right against the wood floor. It's all dang swpllen now.
HOWEVER. I think I'll try it again. Maybe I'll try some of the inversion classes first – depending on my paycheck week by week. They are super cheap, and this place is literally five minutes away from my house. It's right down the damn road.
I'm still much more suited to Kung Fu. That's where I belong, I just can't afford it now, and I can't put all that gas into my car when I'm going 60 miles to and from work 3X week, to boot.
Right now I'm not even kidding when I say I can't move my arms certain ways. I can get them above my head, but I really struggled to get my underwear on. No lie, I had to sit down, because my arms wouldn't pull them up. I dread what tomorrow's going to feel like. And I still feel queasy, probably from the upside down spinning.
But I dunno, I might give this another shot. Because when it works, it's really something amazing.
