How's this for wintertime fun? Yesterday, from noon till around 3:30, I was digging my car out of a snowbank that was higher than the top of the car. My parents were doing a lot of the work, too, so that should give you some indication of just how much snow was there. Meanwhile, my cousin's boyfriend's friend drives a snowplow, and he was supposed to come by and lend a hand with clearing it away from the street where it had, of course, piled up. But, it ended up that he was swamped yesterday and couldn't make it. Anyway I kept digging, because I really wanted to make it to Kung Fu last night.

First thing I noticed upon finding my car was that the front tire was going flat. For whatever reason, this happens to me a lot in the winter. But I said, "I'll make it to Kung Fu anyway, just as long as I dig out my car." Again, there was this mound of snow in front of it, but i figured I could plow through it with the huge front end of the car. As it happened, I didn't get to test this theory, as the Kung Fu academy was closed yesterday. I called at 4 (after doing all that work in a hurry!) and got the message that they wouldn't be open again until Wednesday.

So, no big. Until this morning. 7:30 AM, and here I am, figuring on just pushing through this mound of snow with my huge boat of a car.

The front end got over fine. But I have rear wheel drive. Can you guess the rest? With the front end over the snowbank, the rear wheels weren't getting any traction on the ground. At 8 AM, I had to call in work and give the sort of embarrassing message that, uhh, my car was stuck. No, not on the side of the road. No, not in a patch of ice. ^_^;;

So, here I am. Bored out of my skull.

*giggles* You high-roaded your car in your own driveway.

Sorry, can't help but be amused. ^_^;;

High roaded! That's exactly what I did! I never heard the term before.

Wow, I'm surprised! I first heard it in NE from a military member (so hard to say where he was from), but maybe it's a more regional term. He was laughing about one of his co-workers (he was security police) high-roading his patrol car in the middle of a plowed road - Yes, that very little hump of snow between the lanes.
