It's about time I had an icon to go with my crack dream posts, yes? Thanks, Inception. :D That was my favorite line in the movie, by the way.

I had this dream that I was in Egypt with Lady Chrysanthemum and Wonderful Glassworker. We were buying items wholesale to sell back home. For some reason we were all looking for paper flowers, because that had something to do with making tons of money. Like, we knew tat paper flowers were going to take off, and you could only get them in Egypt.

The weather kept going from ridiculously hot to mad cold, and days and nights were only taking minutes. Or maybe the sun kept coming and going or something. I bought a map that was wrapped up in a cardboard tube and I couldn't get it out.

Then Glassworker suggested a buy a poncho, because a huge sandstorm was coming and it would shield me. She and Chrysanthemum already had theirs, very colorful in reds and oranges.

Market stalls surrounded us but many were closing due to the coming storm. I found one that was still open but they weren't selling ponchos, just wool sweaters. I bought a patchwork-looking one and put it on over my coat that I was already wearing,

A small stretch of desert stretched out between the market stalls and our hotel. I could see across, but I also knew that we'd never make it in time. To test this theory, I stepped into the sand and found that it was quicksand. One of the salespeople told me, "It all turns to quicksand until the storm is over. Until then, you can't cross it. The desert is its own prison." (Thanks, video games.)

Actually this dream was a few weeks ago, I think, but I only remembered it today. Or maybe it really was last night and just feels like it was longer ago? It's hard to tell.

One thing is certain: I should not eat so close to bed time. ;D

Your dreams are fantastic. One day when you don't have a pile of reading a mile high, you should check out some Jung. Or you could cheat like me and see a Jungian therapist and have your dreams analyzed. I traded for plants, veggies and eggs, maybe you could trade for massage. I love using Jungian dream analysis. It keeps everything just as gloriously weird, but starts tying it together with your waking thoughts. One thing you might enjoy also is if they have The Red Book by Jung in your library at school. You won't be able to check it out probably, but you can look at his paintings of dreams. They rock.

I'd be so interested in that. Every time I look at dream analysis it interprets them in terms of your fortune or whatever.

I'm trying to figure out what your icon is. :)

It is my opinion that dream analysis is never about your "fortune" or future beyond how the present is actively shaping your future. Like reading the cards. Well, I guess there are some clearly prophetic dreams, but in decoding them you should be trying to uncover your subconscious life because it is so much more gratifying. We have so much more going on in us than we even know. Our cells talk to us, senses that we don't even understand talk to us, and then there are all the complicated bits that we can't even deal with in waking life because our brains are engaged in things like walking, talking and day to day activities.

I adore your icon btw, a great quote and scene. Mine is an abstracted bit of a statue of a male angel that I find particularly lovely. It in no way represents me, I just felt like using it. His wing tip is down the left along side the ropes to a censer he is holding, his left hand is just about covering his right nipple and he has a shiny skirt on, which, if it was a color picture, would be gold. Also, you can see his belly button. Not that I gaze at it often or anything.

I really hope you write your dreams into stories in some way! This one kind of reads like an RPG story somehow (esp buying coats to protect you from certain elements)

Haha I am so afraid I only really like Inception for the comedy (mine is a tie between yours and "Oh, I bought the airline. (pause) It seemed.. neater")

I play too many video games. :)

Dude, I just read today that the director (or Nolan? I wasn't paying attention?) said in an interview that he more or less intended Eames to be gay. That's close enough to Arthur/Eames being canon. For me anyway. :D
