Long story short, the pool collapsed this afternoon while Jo-chan and I were swimming in it. Yeah, not so hilarious. It was a really big pool, and the water swept out in about twenty seconds into the neighbor's yard and directly in through their basement window. The damage to the pool is unfixable, and that much water in their basement probably is, too. And they're not the nice, fun, helpful, friendly, forgivey neighbors either.

And it's not like it was a crappy pool that wasn't maintained properly or anything. It was only a few years old and the maintenance was done professionally.

And aside from that, anyone who has spent any time with me in the summer knows that the pool was always my oasis. Even when I wasn't swimming in it, I loved to just look at it and listen to the water, smell the chlorine, put my hand or my legs in it. Listen to Bob Marley and read a book by the pool. Or just stare into it.

But, yeah, the damage, the ridiculous cost, and obviously the threat of not being able to pay off said damage. I really don't know what's going to happen. I feel bad for the neighbors; I mean, they lost a lot, too. I can't even imagine the kind of night they are having, either.

I simply can't believe how all these bad things keep happening. I mean, it's really starting to seem quite unreal. I have no idea how we're going to get out of this one.

Damn, seriously? Is there a warranty you can fall back on?

That is some serious shit.

Hey Bev. Just found out the warranty only covers 35% of the cost of repair or replacement. Soooo, yeah. Major suck. :(
