That is weird and interesting, how when an animal is tamed it retains characteristics from its kid-hood. It's like they can't become full adults and still stay in that kind of relationship. Maybe they always think of people as 'parents'? I remember reading an article of someone's experiment with taming foxes. I wish I could remember where; I read it on the net, and I think it was a Russian scientist. Anyway, he kept foxes and bred the ones that displayed characteristics good for taming: friendlier to people, etc. and when he bred the foxes to be truly tame, the turned into something very like a dog. Their ears got floppy, they barked, and all that. It was fascinating how their behaviour and appearance changed, and makes you wonder why a genetic pre-dispossion to 'tameness' also brings along those characteristics.
