Autumn feast

So, same group as last year, and not all too different on all counts, which is not a bad thing. A few of the things that were different were, well, the addition of Haku (always entertaining,) Sano's newfound mellow attitude, and Spencer seeming really withdrawn. From my own experience with being a teen (though for me it was earlier,) I guess it is the usual and natural stage. And I know that he'll come out of it in a few years, too, except that when he does, it'll be on the other side of childhood.
Dinner was really nice as usual, and as usual, I made the (vegetarian) stuffing, and ate loads of it. I had that and red cabbage, and that was it for dinner. But then after dinner I had three pieces of pie, all different kinds. Go, me!
Also as usual, Betsy brought over some wine, and she and Mom and I had some. When Betsy opened the second bottle, she sniffed it and said, "Ahh, an absurd little wine," to which I replied, "Hilarious." And then my uncle pointed out, "You guys say that exact same thing everytime you open a bottle of wine, and you've been saying it for years." It occurred me then that he was absolutely right. But Betsy and I were sitting there giggling, because I guess after all these years, it's still freaking funny, and I don't even know why.
Then we watched Polar Express, which was nice, but meh, did exactly nothing for me. It was pretty forgetable. And then we started talking about taking a trip in February, and looking at airline prices and hotel prices, which I really, really hope works out. I mean, we will take the kids with us either way, but I have so much fun with my aunt and uncle, I'd really miss it if I didn't get that five days with everyone in the dead of winter.
I am not thankful that I have to work tomorrow, damnit, but I suspect I said the same thing last year, too, and that Friday ended, after all. How is it that tomorrow seems like it will take forever, when the entire year went by in a breath.
