A bit of today

I'm missing Kung Fu tonight, because I had unexpected guests. Kim and her husband Rick came over to cover the pool this afternoon, and we just got to all yammering during the pool covering. Then, right before they were about to leave, one of the starlings I'd released yesterday got himself stuck un the drainpipe that comes down the side of the house. I kid you not. Rick and I had to shake the damned thing to get him down to the bottom, then I had to stick my hand up there and sort of ease him out.
I'm depressed that the pool is covered. It seems like only two or three weeks ago we were opening it. I told Kim to come over for a swim and she said she didn't have a suit and I told her, "Who said you needed a suit?" and Rick cracked up. We went through that routine again today and that drove it home how quickly the summer had gone by.
I didn't get much sleep last night, not only because of Advent Children and the fact that I was thinking about it long past the time I went to bed, but because of Trisky. About halfway through my watching of the movie, she decided she needed to go outside. She looked like she wanted to puke, so I let her out. Then I called her inside. Then she got obsessed with going in the sunroom and poking around in there, generally causing mayhem. I closed it off with the shoti screen, but she was freaking determined and she kept trying to get past it. She's never acted like that before. Then she started hanging around the door again, so I took her out on the leash. She ate some tall grass, and still didn't throw up. She saw someone walk down the road and she barked at him. So, I take her inside and go back to my movie. Then, not ten minutes later, she's pesting to go out again, looking like she has to puke. I let her out again, and took Sano out, too. ALl Trisky did was walk the circumference of the yard, and then when the guy walked down the street again, she went nuts trying to chase him away, and so did Sano. This was at around midnight, so they must have woken all the neighbors up. After I chased her around the yard and finally made her come in, she still wouldn't sit or lie still. I started to worry that something was up with her. She did this once before, last year. She just wandered around looking fretful. Eventually I decided that maybe if I stopped acting fretful she would, too. Then she went to bed and fell asleep. O_o
Anyway, on the chance that I'm unable to burn AC to a dvd, I'm going to post some screengrabs that I got. They're going to be spoilerific, but I will put up proper warnings.
Hmm.
