The reunion, I think, was basically the same idea: a reunion of Jenova cells. Since Jenova could take any form she wanted, she would choose, as always, the form of her perfect son, Sephiroth (which she did, in Kadaj.) As far as I'm concerned, it still leaves the question open as to whether or not Sephiroth really does exist anymore, or if he is just a form of Jenova cells mutating. And of course, for Cloud Strife, it would have to be Sephiroth, the physical manifestation of all of the destruciton in his life.
