I am so glad I do music and not dance. There is not only no respect for tradition, there is a strong undercurrent of people who like mixing shit up until it explodes.
This is so true, and one of the things I've always loved about music--learning the rules and then breaking them. (Although, I never quite learned them to begin with. ;) ) However, music has always been so difficult for me; I respect anyone who is able to actually make any.
(I am producing a hybrid of orchestral music and speed metal that would make Michael Kamen shit himself, for example. And I am one of the more conservative examples.)
