MY DOG IS A HERMAPHRODITE.

Which is good news. Here's the story:
Haku was born with only one kidney. The "big tubular structure" they found on the ultrasound which they thought was an ectopic ureter leading to the wrong place in his bladder, actually was a random tube leading to a random sac. They were both full of pus. The sac, however, showed signs of uterine tissue.
And inside his abdomen was an ovary.
Yes, you read it here. Haku "He's Too Pretty To Be A Boy" is a hermaphrodite.
They biopsied his liver--which is abnormally small--and his one kidney to make sure there were no other so-and-so-pathies or disease processes going on. And if those results come back all right, then his prognosis is excellent, even with one kidney.
Also, it's possible that the seizure he had was caused by this random ovary which might have been shooting estrogen or progesterone into his brain. They sent out a blood panel for sex hormones to find out. If those come back high (I hope they do,) it explains the seizure and rules out a brain tumor and/or epilepsy. It also takes care of the problem because they took the ovary out.
Last night, didn't I say that I thought all these things were connected and that it was like House? I believe there actually was an episode of House where seizures were caused by hermaphroditism? Dude sometimes I scare myself.
I also came home and told my other dog, Sano, "My friend, you were right." ^_~
That's the whole crazy story as I know it so far. Haku is awake from surgery and is doing so well they might not even keep him for the prescribed three days. :)
ETA: It's also like a volume of Pet Shop Of Horrors. Count D would love this. I halfway want to believe that Count D had a hand in this, actually. ;D (See icon)
