Hello M., hello S(S)S. This is for both of you for different reasons. M., it's for you because it just is. Something about you says "horror fan" and with the darkness that you, err, exude sometimes, this seemed a fitting motif. It's just over five minutes so it may take up a lot of your time I guess, but that's how long the song is, so. ^_^ I hope you like it.

The story makes no sense out of context though. If there's a plot to this, it's probably something like, "Girl meets hitman, girls marries hitman, girls ends up being better hitman than hitman. Girl meets other guy, falls in love with other guy, hitman kills girl and other guy. Girl comes back as a zombie, kills hitman, kills many other people, kills all of her exes, kills randomly." I don't know, something like that.

(S[S]S, I'd love for you to see it, too, just if you feel like. Many of these scenes were from that movie some other MCR fans (and friends of mine who just wanted to make a movie,) and I were doing. The scenes I used in this are mostly just snippets from that, like maybe 1/32 of what we had filmed, and we were just about a quarter of the way through. It's probably just as well, because it would never have done justice to such a beautiful album anyway. ^_^ Well, these clips are for you to see, although I do have an actual prezzie for you as well--see below. :D )

Anyway, by the Lo Fidelity Allstars, I Used To Fall In Love.

S(S)S, your actual prezzie. Remember that day I told you "My middle name is Misery" and you responded that your middle name was "Subtlety?" ^_^ There is a story behind why I said that.

"Back in the day" as the saying goes, my Dad was a recording artist, a singer who went on tour with people like The Fireflies as well as his own band. He traveled a lot and at the time was not altogether responsible with his own creations. (Meaning music, here.) He wrote a song, and it's one that he has always lived by, and now, I guess that I do, too. It also reminds me of you, because even though it was way before the time of punk, the ethos is the same: Don't ever stand down, don't take crap from anyone. However, he left the lyrics lying around in a recording studio while he went away.

Some dude came in, saw the lyrics and thought they would make a great hit record, so he passed them on to another recording artist who went on to huge fame. No one knew who the writer of the lyrics was, so my Dad never got credit or royalties for the song.

The other recording artist was Elvis Presley, and the song is called Trouble. Here is my Dad's version of it, recorded long after he wrote the lyrics. That's for you, S(S)S; it reminds me of you. Because for all of your kindness and peace, there's steel in you and it shows. (And it reminds me of me, too. Because "I don't take no orders from no kinda man." ^_^ )

Happy anti-VD, you two. ^_^
