He was all sluggish and moving slowly and looked just about dead. I caught him and brought him inside to put in the laundry room.

I hope your lady feels better, and everything checks out for her. Why is it so hard for animals to realize they need to take it easy when they're hurt? Seriously, shouldn't some self-preservation instinct kick in?
