Happy feminist HitRECord joy
Nov. 4th, 2011 03:29 pmTwo things I did on HitRECord today, and one got retweeted, and the other (which was very important to me,) got featured on the main page.
First I did my thirteen minute-long recap of my day and night. The people I met, things I saw, stuff I recorded, and everything. I had made a special thank you to Jared in that one, and Jared was kind enough to retweet my post. OMG I can't even tell you how nice these people are, the whole group of them who put this site together.
So if anyone wants to see ALL OF THE THINGS and the stuff I was talking about in my previous post, please see that video.
This one really made me proud of HitRECord. I wrote This little essay-type thing on feminism, and on my interpretation of Joe's admirable behavior during the show, and dealing with gender roles and stereotypes. That one got featured in just a few minutes, and I was so happy – not because something I'd done had gotten featured (but yeah, that too,) but more because I wasn't misinterpreting Joe, HitRECord, or the entire show. No, it really was a call for gender equality and to shut down victim-blaming.
So I'm feeling the love, and HitRECord is a great place to be an unapologetic feminist. ^_^
