Right, so eventually I want to get on here and write about the movie 50/50 which I saw and really liked, and about Dr. Who, and Halloween, and taking my plants inside, and this and that and the other usual thing.

Except, ffs, I can't get past the Occupy Wall Street thing. See, this revolution is televised – just not by the media. This is what's so fascinating about the whole thing. Everyone has an iPhone now (thank you, Steve Jobs, and peace out,) so nothing really goes unreported anymore.

Like, for instance, this cop bragging about all the people he's going to "hopefully" beat with his nightstick.

WTF.

It kills me that some people are so naïve that they don't get what's actually going on here. This is the kind of revolution that I thought would never happen in America, because we're too comfortable to fight. But here it is! And just like in any third world country, here's the police brutality to go with it. Every day I'm holding my breath, waiting for our version of the Neda tragedy.

God, my Dad was a cop, and I know he would be appalled by this. My Dad was a fair cop, he would never, ever hurt someone who was peaceful and helpless.

With that said, I am so proud of what's going on over there. And here is a much more awesome video:

Jesse LaGreca from Occupy Wall Street talks to Fox News...this clip never made it to air, via Kyle Christopher of Occupy Wall St.'s media team.

Erudite, polite, informed, this guy just lays it all out and takes the reporter to pieces. I wish I could think on my feet like that.

Because I support this movement and have been so vocal about it, I've gotten a handful of questions about what the demands are. (As well as accusations of being on the side of lazy, unemployed, brainless socialists. Umm. Yeah.)

Anyway, here is the Official Statement from the Occupy Wall Street movement.

There it is, all laid out and easy to understand. Those demands are the most reasonable I've heard. There's nothing violent about them. It's just logic.

I guess some folks, like the cop in that video, will take any opportunity to hurt someone. And dude, that makes me so depressed.

For anyone who doesn't know, I'm on Tumblr. I've got a few Wall Street posts up there, mixed in with stuff like art, jokes, Dr. Who, fannishness, and pics of animals. It's sort of a watered down version of this LJ, come to think of it. So yeah, if you're on Tumblr and you want to follow, please do.
