Jul. 24th, 2011 12:08 pmHaku had a seizure this morning at around 1:30. He was lying in his bed and didn't have time to get up and crash into anything. It's so strange when it happens when he's already asleep. He never shows any outward pre-ictal signs, that I'm aware of.
Anyway, that's 26 days since his last one. Time before that, it was 27 days I think. So here's my question.
( WAY TMI )
Remember, when he first was diagnosed with primary epilepsy and he had the ultrasound/exploratory surgery, they found more than just the accidentally cut-off kidney floating around. (Officially the write-up reads, "kidney dysgenisis" but that was when his old vet *cough cough* "couldn't locate" his neuter chart, where it was a cryptorchid, or one testicle not descended. However, years before, he'd told me "I was up there for hours, digging around in there." And since then I've asked many vets, who all seem to agree that it's highly effing likely that while he was "in there for hours digging around" he probably cut the ureter and set the kidney afloat without even realizing.)
Getting back to it, they also found another structure that wasn't a testicle but could have been some kind of ovary mashup. It was pulsating, like a fallopian tube would do.
The most telling thing was that his progesterone and estrogen levels were off the charts. Not even for a male dog, but even for a female they were massively high. The vet told me that you normally find levels like this only in pregnant dogs. We went crazy trying to figure out if he'd gotten into something - but what? Pills, face creams, anything. Couldn't find a thing.
So here's the thing. ( TMI again )
I DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHAT IN THE WORLD.
