First final down! Only... (*counting on my fingers*) six more to go. O_O Today's final (med massage) was ridiculously easy. I'll be surprised if I don't get a hundred. Well maybe not surprised, because you have to allow for those "Oh crap, I totally read that question wrong" questions. So 90-something, easily. Honestly, it was that simple.

Kineseology, however. Hmm. This is the class that everyone warned me was a cakewalk until the final. And, it really hasn't been a huge challenge, but I am aware that both the practical and the written are going to be all levels of challenging. Even Dr. R warned us that the written is a whole new level. Uhh, thanks. But then, as if to make up for the upcoming harshness of the tests, he taught part of the class while doing the Blue Steel face from Zoolander. Ha, I love him. There's one in every school, I swear. He's the best. :)

The practical in Swedish tech is going to be easy, and the written in Asian Bodyworks 3 is going to be insane. His tests are all fill-ins. Which I honestly think is much truer to the concept of learning than multiple choice, but we in America get spoiled by our multiple choices, don't we? And I think that extends well past test-taking, but let's not get into that right now. ^_^

I have weeks of studying around the corner. And tomorrow I have to get up frigging early on my usual day off and drive the frigging 300 miles to school on my usual day off and sit in mothereffing traffic on the LIE on my usual day off and pay all this extra gas money on my usual day off to get my BLS/CPR/First Aid certification. Honestly, having to get up that frigging early on my usual day off? If I had the choice I'd let someone lie in the street and bleed to death.

NAHHH not really. (See: a Finding guys lying in the road and such from a while back.)

In all, today was a sucky day. Not that anything terrible happened, it was just annoying, bothersome, irksome, irritating and other such synonyms. So there's this guy in one of my massage classes and he just kind of does his own thing, never really goes along with what the teachers tell him to do or anything like that. And I'm not sure why no one ever puts a lid on him or shuts him down. I really don't know. Because he worked on me today, and it was the worst, most uncomfortable massage I've ever gotten, and really if he was doing this up in clinic I'm not sure how long he would last. First of all, he doesn't just let you lie there; no, you have to get in all crazy positions so he can do "special techniques" (which I think are just hand-savers to him, like to save him the strain of having to bend over or something) but which are really bad, bad body ergonomics. I had to tell him twice to give me a bolster or let me move my frigging leg, because my hip started to ache and my neck was all knotted up by the time he was done. (Seriously, there's a reason we use pillows?) Worst of all, he understands nothing about draping. Halfway through I started to feel a serious draft, and I just, I don't know, felt eyes, you know? He was behind me so obviously he wasn't paying attention to what was going on, but apparently the rest of the class was paying attention. It sucks when you're lying there and all of a sudden you have to think, "Yeah, pretty sure my boobs are on display."

I seriously worked harder than he did. And at the end, I felt like he should have paid me. :/

Ehhh enough with the complaining.

Last night I had just got down to some serious worrying about the Dragon because I hadn't heard from him in a while and he had not been to the kwon. I called him Friday and asked if he wanted to get together and maybe spar or something. Then when he wasn't in the kwon Monday, I called him that night to make sure he wasn't Dead In A Ditch. So, when I saw his name come up on caller ID tonight I was halfway like, "Hmmph, call me now will you?" but actually with quite a bit of relief. My pettishness is mostly comical. Anyway, I could hardly hear his voice; he was very faint. He's been mad sick, mad sick, like, falling down in the bathroom and unable to leave the floor for hours. And then spending most of the rest of the week in bed with fevers in the triple digits.

This upset me greatly and I got my panic on and got all, "DOES YOUR NECK HURT, ARE YOU NUMB ANYWHERE, DO YOU HAVE THIS RANDOM SYMPTOM, OR THAT RANDOM SYMPTOM?!" And he's all, "Errr, no, why would my neck hurt? What do you think it is?"

'Cause, well, in pathology we're doing all of these awful diseases. I had to stop myself, apologize and try to explain how stupidly I've changed since losing Dad so suddenly. Like for instance, when I came home tonight, my Mom had neglected to turn the outside light on. I went tearing up the driveway, just knowing that Something Terrible had happened. I told Dragon, "I know it's unreasonable. But lately, every noise is catastrophic. Every symptom is terminal. And every once in a while, everyone I love is Dead In A Ditch."

"I'll never be Dead In A Ditch," he promised me. "I know Kung Fu."

I have no idea how knowing Kung Fu precludes Death In A Ditch, but I will absolutely, absolutely remember that.

And will try to remember it for every random noise, cough, phone call after 10 PM, or normal everyday-doing-things.

But on the other hand, I mean you hear all these stories, especially from the doctors in school where it's like, "It started out as a tingle in the pinky finger but it was CANCER" and "One day his ears got clogged and he thought it was a cold but it was a STROKE" and "At first it was just a tooth infection and then it was a BRAIN ABCESS."

I mean, how do you know? How are you supposed to learn these things and be cautious but not act like a goddamn psycho every time someone's eye twitches? How do you know what to ignore, when Chekhov has so many guns?

This is something I'm going to have to figure out.

And on that note, bed time. Because, early and whatnot. Day off. Though not really.

GAHH!
