Today, SB came by for a visit on his way to upstate. It's so good to see him whenever he can manage to come by. He wrote and recorded a song in which he sings and plays all the instruments, and sent it to me. It's amazing and I couldn't be more proud of him! He and Jo-chan have turned out to be awesome individuals.
Tomorrow is a big day for some of the Kung Fu folks. The Empress, Matt Damon Boy and Sharp-wit Boy are getting their black sashes. There's this ceremony kind of thing where they get adopted into the lineage of the school. So there's going to be all kinds of demos and stuff (we are instructed to come to the school in our KF clothes but bring something nice to wear for going out to dinner after,) and I don't know what most of us will be doing. It starts at noon. I'm so looking forward to it!
This was an odd feeling: Yesterday I was out shopping and I came across a stack of five notebooks (for twenty bucks; I mean that's rather a lot, right?) and I realized that soon I would have to buy notebooks for school again. Notebooks, pens, pencils, god I don't even know what else I'm going to need. I forgot how to do this thing. I'm a little nervous now but I have the holidays as a buffer between me and this reality of going back to college. It seems like the second New Years is over I will be starting. At the same time I'm ridiculously excited, too. I loved being a student. I hope I will love it again and I hope I remember how to study and how to do well.
Right now I'm starving like Marvin. The dinner i made earlier was so crappy. I tried to boil shiritaki in with garlic, seaweed, watercress, tofu and then put some nuts and peanut sauce on top. It sounds nice but it just didn't come out well at all. I want something else but I don't know what. Hmm.
Also I have to re-check directions for tomorrow and try on some clothes to bring along. WTF, bringing fancy clothes to change into. Where the hell are we going to change? Hmm.
And that's what's up on this dark, foggy Autumn evening.
