Some blather and some pics
Oct. 5th, 2006 04:32 pmI'm so disappointed that
faire_damsel and her plastic pals have petered out on that fairy tale. (Oops, I mean, ~~FAERIEE TAIYLE!~~) I was looking forward to more Evil!Dark!Jules. (Because as you know, pale skin is superior to dark skin! Therefore my evil self would have to be dark.) Anyway. So that's too bad.
I got up this morning for work and could neither bend nor totally straighten my knee. Range of motion was total crap and it hurt to put weight on it, so I called in lame. I have to go tomorrow (I need the money and we are hella busy) but I had to warn my co-workers, range of motion will still suck. I can't be crouching and twisting and stuff. I'm not even sure about heavy lifting. I have to find that brace! It's my most comfortable one and the only one that really works.
So I stayed home and did all my laundry. In fact, I'm still not done. This might seem like a small thing, but it's no usual feat for me. I totally emptied the hamper and did EVERYthing, stuff that's been in there since like July. I kid you not. Usually when I do the laundry I just do enough for about a week. It's pathetic, kind of. But today I did everything and I'm still not done hanging all the dried stuff up. I also watered and fed all the plants. Exciting, no? Yesterday, though, I blitzed the bird cages. I mean I always clean them with Nolvasan, but yesterday I blitzed, scrubbed them outside, hosed, disinfected to total spotlessness. So things here are CLEAN, yo. Only problem is that the whole house smells like hardcore cleaning agents, and I prefer more natural scents like my jasmine tree and cucumber and stuff like that.
Last night I was having a dream about Pendragon, and it's the second time I've had this dream. It's that he's come back only to die again. Each time I had the dream I was thinking, "This could not possibly be happening again--literally." The first time I had that dream, it worked, and I woke myself up. This time when I had it the logic went something like, "Well, the last time this happened it was only a dream. What's the likelihood that you'd dream the same thing twice? So it must be real." I guess I still have all this emotional junk that goes with losing him. It's only been a few months, after all. I just wish the dreams were nicer, more like a spirit visit than reliving that one time. Really that was one of the only times he was sick, and he had fourteen really awesome years of sunshine and food, which he loved more than god. Most iguanas eat less as they get older, but Pendragon never lost his appetite with age. If anything, he ate more. It was just a really good life.
I wonder if my bestest friend will be coming over tonight. I've got clothes everywhere, but I can get those put away before she comes by, if she even does. That would be cool, to see her. We only get to hang out like every other week. Which I guess is more often than most friends of our age get to hang out, so I shouldn't complain. ^_^
Oh, hey, here are some cute pictures I took at work Tuesday.
( A kitten pile: )
( Emily's huge grill: ) Nastiest bird ever, seriously. She is bloodthirsty.
Here's a picture I took a little while ago while I was feeding the houseplants:
( The sunroom: ) I'm posting it because it sort of perfectly describes the mood of today.
Well, I guess it's time to feed the Ninja Wizards. I really wonder if I get to hang out with Kim tonight. Time will tell. :)
ETA: My hibiscus plant has a bud on it for the first time since I've gotten it. And that was seven years ago!
