Huzzah for the resurrection of WinMX. It came from beyond the grave! Woooo! And I just downloaded a bunch of Halloween sounds and cool songs.

In another geeky front, a bit more on Penny Arcade. I've liked PA for a while and have gotten a huge kick out of the webcomic over the years (especially last year's tale of horror,) but I've never truly fangirled PA until today. Oh, you're thinking, because of how they stood up to the man, did the right thing, all of that cool stuff, right? While I do appreciate that, and while I did wanna stand up and cheer, that's not exactly the real reason. The real reason is this comic, most specifically the last panel.

If anyone can tell me why the lines "Do you have snakes that come in sometimes? Don't stand for that shit." crack me up so badly, you get a cookie, because I have yet to figure it out. At first I thought it was because I read it last night at Stupid O Clock and everything was funny. Then I read it again this morning, and it was still hilarious. As I was out birthday shopping today, random lines from that kept occurring to me: "You know what would really fix their little red wagon?" "...see how they like it." And I would start to giggle in the middle of the store or parking lot.

So anyway, today I went birthday shopping, as I said, and while I was out, I picked up the last few things I need to finish begin making my Corpse Bride costume. This is going to be hellish. I've only got a few more free days to make it.

I came home, cleaned and cleaned and cleaned, and then went out to Kung Fu. On my way home from Kung Fu, the moon rose pumpkin orange. The Harvest Moon, I've always called that, and it never fails to surprise me with how eerily gorgeous it is. Now the air smells like ozone--like rain--only it's a perfectly clear night. WTF, I say.

Oh, lemme fangirl just a little more. Capt. Hook again. Last night I had to hold myself back from reading it. I'm really trying to stretch it out because I don't want it to be over. Some parts of it are awesomely consistent with how I imagined Hook to be in his younger days, and consistent with how he is in the original Peter Pan. (OMG canon fanfiction!) Like in Peter Pan, his eyes glow red when he gets angry, he's obssessed with Good Form, and he bleeds yellow. Although, as of yet, he doesn't seem to mind that. Canonically, Hook was afraid of his own blood. I wonder how this story is going to resolve that.

O, man unfathomable!

*coughcough* Still in love with Jason Isaacs' perfect portrayal of one of my favorite characters ever.

So anyway, tomorrow I have work, and I'll probably be working alone. It shouldn't be too bad, because I don't think we're that busy. It sucks, though, because I have to brign Sano and Haku in for their shots and bath tomorrow, and I wanted Casse to see Haku before he gets big. Every day he looks taller and taller. He's got his moments (and the puppy nipping has to stop! Those teeth are sharp!) but he's really a good puppy. Willful, to be sure, but friendly and licky and cuddly. Mostly able to amuse himself, although he does sometimes pester Sano to the point of annoyance.

Speaking of eldest boydog, lately he's been obssessed with the door. He's been spending hours with his nose pressed to the bottom of the door, taking huge, great breaths as he tries to sniff something outside. Sometimes he goes nuts and paws at the door. He's mad, of course, but he's not entirely wrong. I've heard something scuttling around out there a few nights, too. Something small and scratchy. But Sano won't leave his post. As I type this, he's been in the same position for 30 minutes, staring at the crack of the door. He won't budge.

Ah! Time for Whose Line and a glass of chocolate soy.

A hi hou! ^_^
