1. Take five books off your bookshelf.
2. Book #1 -- first sentence
3. Book #2 -- last sentence on page fifty
4. Book #3 -- second sentence on page one hundred
5. Book #4 -- next to the last sentence on page one hundred fifty
6. Book #5 -- final sentence of the book
7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph
My books:
1.The Great Train Robbery - Michael Crichton
2. The Soulforge - Margaret Weis
3. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - JK Rowling
4. The Gunslinger - King
5. The Quantum World For Everyone - Kenneth Ford
Forty minutes out of London, passing through the rolling green fields and cherry orchards of Kent, the morning train of the South Eastern Railway attained its maximum speed of fifty-four miles an hour.
"Oh, heck, Raist, we're twins," Caramon said, and grinning happily, he nudged his brother in the ribs. "You'd do the same for me."
Now they were speeding past fields full of cows and sheep. Jake's face went gray, and he said no more.
More and more physicists are agreeing with John Wheeler: "How come the quantum?" is a good question.
Now that is pretty odd. It starts on a train, which leads to the Majere brothers, apparently on the train to Hogwarts, with Jake. Jake, as anyone who read The Gunslinger knows, has a lot to do with trains and traintracks. And quantum ties in all these alternate universes. ;)
So two nights ago I saw Finding Neverland. It was pretty straightforward, very sweet and poignant, sad, nothing fancy. Johnny Depp was good as he often is, and Kate Winslet was also good, as she often is.
Last night I watched Napolean Dynamite. Is it wrong of me to have enjoyed this movie moch more than I enjoyed Finding Neverland?
