Horror of horrors!
Sep. 30th, 2004 08:40 pmI've been having huge problems with yellowjackets this year. They're everywhere in my house; I kill at least five of them a day and the bastards keep on coming back! I feed the dead ones to my spiders, and they are so cute to watch as they creep up on what they think is this live bug and "box" with it for a while to see if it's going to fight back.
Anyway, I always have these evil thoughts that one of these awful yellowjackets is going to end up in my shoe or my clothes or something.
Well! Not just fifteen minutes ago, I got this sudden pain in my thigh... and don't you know, one of those evil, awful things had gone up the leg of my pants (I wear these nice, loose, flowy pants at night) and totally nailed me! And that's what it felt like, too, like someone banging a nail into my leg, only hot. Now it still burns and my legs feel all cold and shivery and I have chills like no one's business. Blaaagh!
Now I'm afraid to move, because I know that there are loads more somewhere. I wonder if I could smoke them out with sage or something like that. Hmm.
But my sweet spider is enjoying a very juicy meal right now, the dear.
