Remember last year when I was all in a tizzy because I was trying to get that window installed, and the contractors were all "tomorrow, we promise we'll do it tomorrow." "Oh, well really, next week. But honestly, next week, without a doubt." "Well definitely in the Springtime" and so on, until I was ready to tear out my hair because this went on for two months?

So when the patio room people called and said that they would have it finished by Saturday, (today,) absolutely, no problem, after all they want their money... my first response was, "Yeah, right. I'll believe it when I see it." You can imagine my surprise when they showed up this morning and actually started building it!

Now you can imagine how not surprised I was when they were about halfway done and they installed the bottom panels, and I realized that they had brought the wrong room.

Okay, they brought all the wrong parts. I knew, knew the salesman was going to mess this up because when we were going over the details, he kept getting my room confused with the one he'd been working on earlier. Oh, so do the builders start to take the whole thing down so they can start over? Hell no. They want their "we completed the frame" money. So--now keep in mind, they know they're going to have to take it down and start over--they complete the frame anyway, say they'll take it down when they come back Wednesday, and then ask for the check.

I have such a headache.

This is Four Seasons Sunrooms on Long Island, okay? Anyone on Long Island who reads this and might have been considering business there, be warned.

Aside from that, I took the kids to ICON today. Oh, it was ever so much fun, and the weather was beautiful. The cosplay show was just hilarious, and everyone was so good. Last year there were some pretty bad ones, a few people not only basically sucked, but who didn't even make the effort not to suck. This year, I really, really laughed, and in a good way. Not in a "my god, I can't believe this loser" kind of way.

One highlight was the SNL-ish anime Jeopardy! parody complete with Sean Connery ("I'll take One Gay Teacher for two hundred, Alex." "That's Onegai Teacher!") Two other highlights were the two Links from OOT. Both were girls, and the first killed Navi with her sword, and everyone in the audience cheered. The second was another girl Link, and she did a good job playing Zelda's theme on her piccolo. At the end of her act, a few people in the front row started singing that hilarious LOZ song that's been going around the 'net for a few years, the one that no one seems to know who actually sang it, but most people think it's System Of A Down? They started singing that, and pretty soon the entire audience was singing it. I found it so funny and kind of cool that, here's this song that's never been released, yet this very specific group of people knows it word for word.

Then we shopped pretty much for the rest of the day. I got the Monty Python Holy Grail bunny (my dog Sano is afraid of it,) and a bunch 'o pins. Oh, I got Sephiroth and Cloud pins! I also found out that the Cloud statue that I did not get when I had the chance all those years ago is now going for upt o $500. Damn and blast. This also means that my Sephiroth statue goes for about that much now, but it still makes me mad. I didn't get it to sell it. And I want the Cloud statue, damn you all. ;)

Well, I'm exhausted, and I still have to feed these little, feathered beasts before bed. Oh, I did mention that I'm baby-bird sitting again, right? Until Monday, I think. They're precious, like little clumps of grey and green wool. And they're bite-sized, too I just love to cuddle them.

Remind me tomorrow to post my anti real-person-fic rant, okay? Because there are some RPF and RPS issues going on in my little internet life again. You know, the usual. I think you can talk to RPS writers until you'er blue int he mouth, and they just keep throwing the same tired justifications back at you, no matter what. They're almost like fundies in that way. Creepy.

Right, well, feed baby birds and then bed. Oh, this headache!
