Mar. 10th, 2004 10:12 pmI totally just remembered the dream I was having this morning. It started out where I joined back up with the pirate theater group I used to work with till about a year ago. (Less than a year, really.) I guess I dreamed about them because the director emailed me a few days ago asking if I'd care to come down and do more pirate shows with them. (I dunno. I'd kind of like to, but I already dated two guys from the show, so it's awkward. O_o )
So in the dream, I go to the pirate show, and instead of our little, fake ship, we have this real ship, only it's more like an airship. The director tells me that it's a part of the Space Needle, and that we're going to fly it around town and make our entrance in it. He warns me that it really flies, so I'd better hold on tight. So I climb up into the very front (the front looked like the top of the Space Needle, with the big wire bars going vertically all across it,) and I hold on tight. To my left, on the other side of some kind of control panel, is Celia. (Celia is one of my cousins who grew up with me. I was talking about her with my Mom yesterday. Celia's 28, BTW, and pregnant with her second child.) So I tell Celia to hold on, because I hear that this thing really flies...
And then off we go! And it's scary, but fun, like a roller coaster only I don't know when it's going to stop. Suddenly it goes into a nosedive, but I kind of have the feeling that we're going to live.
Sure enough, we touch down in this field with a stage in it, kind of like the park in Greenport with the stage that the othe girls and I did a Hula show at early last summer. It's right on the edge of the water. The landing is nice and smooth, and I climb out. I guess we're all singing our "YoHo" song like we usually do, but I'm looking around for the director, and suddenly it's nighttime and I can't tell many of the pirates apart. But oddly, this idea is exciting to me.
So then the director comes up to me and says, "we're not doing our regular pirate show tonight. Instead, we're doing Peter Pan." I'm like, "Wooo, no way! How terrific! We're all already in costume anyway!"
I decided to be Wendy, only grown up. Then I realized that it was up to me to find Peter among these pirates. It was difficult to spot him, because he had grown up, too. I was looking at all these different men--these different characters--and wondering which was Peter Pan. Most of them ignored me, but a few of them called "Wendy-lady!" to me, and I had to try to discern if they were Peter or not, and none of them were.
Then all of a sudden, Celia goes running off towards the water, with this white dog I know from work following her. I get panicked all of a sudden because I know that this is the lagoon, and she can get hurt there. So I'm calling, "CELIA! CELIA!" and trying to run after her, only now the field is flooded and I have to half swim, half run towards her. So I go through this archway of stone and trees to the lagoon. There are men here, too, pirates all, only they're moving slowly, like they're in a trance. I see Celia going towards where the lagoon starts and I keep running. I remember that the rocks were all slippery.
So finally I get to her, and she's a little kid again, around eleven or so. I grab her by the arm and I tell her, really fast and in one breath, "the mermaids will kill you the rocks are poisonous and if you look at the lights they will lead you to your death." Then I looked around and I saw that there were all these yellow-green, glowing patches in the water, and I knew that they were sort of like the swamp-lights that led lost people to drown. So Celia goes, "Oh, okay, I didn't know. I guess we can leave." And we start to swim back (the whole place was water by now,) and I'm sort of dragging her along. And in the back of my mind I'm going, "You can put her down, you know; she's not a little kid anymore."
The next thing I know, the swamp, the pirates, the ship, the field and everything is gone. All of a sudden I'm on a train to the North Fork where I work. I'm going East, and I'm peeking out through the closed blinds over a Southern window, trying to see the mountains and villages. (Of note: there are no mountains on Long Island. Cliffs, yes, but no mountains.) I realize that it has rained really hard the night before, and that the rain had washed away the rest of the snow.
So I quickly pull up the blinds, and I'm looking at a row of startlingly red pine trees, with little cottages in the mountainside between them. There were more people on the train in other cars, but I didn't care, and I started talking to myself. I was saying, "I haven't seen the colors in so long! But now the snow has melted and I can see the red trees again!" It was so beautiful and peaceful and kind of exciting and romantic, I just wanted to look out the window the whole way. The train started to move, and I was thinking, "It's a shame I have to work today, but at least I get this marvelous view out my window."
And then my alarm clock went off.
Men and water, always. O_o
Anyway, back to the important stuff.
Tifa whispered. "Is it strange? Does anything hurt?" "No," Cloud said in a room full of people, some of the breath he'd been holding in a very strange mixture of hurt and fascination. Tifa had to do it again. And aside from that, Rufus would approve.
(I'm not sure *I* approve.)
Cid asked, and pressed his palm to her core when he looked up to see Scarlet standing in doorway from the alley next to Cloud; she didn't want to say "no." And, even if he'd gotten himself killed, then it was weird, though.
(Pretty weird even without him getting himself killed, if you ask me.)
She giggled, and Cloud asked everyone to be done.
(Right now, Cloud?!)
She never even gave him his pants, and he looked peaceful. That was the most natural action in the shower.
( ^_^;; )
He looked very pale, and Tifa figured that they were too rhythmic and autonomic. Resignedly, Scarlet turned around and took a lot to injure them, and that it took a lot to injure them, and that was such a dick," he muttered.
(Takes so much to injure them. Such a dick!)
Oh, that's...that's great, Fletcher. I saw that kid, talked to him.... I'm---I'm all right, I'm just glad, you know.... Yes, I'm trying to eat a broken ankle.
(In case you were wondering what the noise was...)
Her bullet hit the clone in the bathroom and into Cloud's room.
(Ladies and gentlemen...That is one magic bullet.)
Cid's mouth fell open, and, if Tifa had to act quickly to do the job. Her eyes were telling her the same time that Reisei said, "Cloud and Vincent together?" Cid asked. "Um..." Reeve shook himself free of his face. "Scarlet?" he whispered into the mirror, but Cloud had managed it again. When Scarlet let go of the other. That action was probably using up most of his tongue
(Come on in, the orgy's fine! Yes, folks, Cloud has managed it *again.*)
"Oh," he said, hoping that his DNA was walking around somewhere in his brain. "I love it when you talk dirty," he managed through a veil. He hadn't even gotten as far as deciding what to do, get Vincent maybe Yuffie and then he turned his attention to Cloud.
(It's the Mangler. It *always* talks dirty.)
It was only fair that she wanted to, as long as he fought Jenova for his foot, and gotten his thigh instead.
(As long as he gets something out of it...)
Damn him, he always did this distractedly, as if through a haze of pleasure. She started to cry again, so she pulled away from her face.
(*Slapslap!* Pay attention, damnit!)
