Dec. 23rd, 2003 09:23 pmSince college, one of my all-time favorite obsessions books has been Peter Pan. I've got, you know, the posters, the statues, the dolls, I've even got a Peter Pan nightgown. Hell, I've even done Peter Pan fanart, way before the internet, way before I knew what "fanart" was. (I tried to paint the scene with Peter and Wendy on the rocks in which, as the water's rising, Peter ties Wendy to a kite to save her, then waits on the rock, thinking that to die will be a great adventure. The painting sucked, but I tried. I also tried to do "bad form!" but, let's not even get into that.) Anyway, I just loved the entire story, and none of the movies ever did it justice.
So, seeing the trailer and some clips from the new movie, I think I know how some Tolkien fans felt when they saw the first trailer for FOTR. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I don't want them to mess it up. I'm glad to see Tiger Lily in this one (Tiger Lily represent!) and the creepy mermaids, because that part was awesome. What I'm really looking forward to, though? Jason Isaccs. Have you seen the trailers or clips with him as Hook? See, in all my obsession with the story, I would never have thought to imagine Hook as being so frigging hot. When I very first saw the trailer and became aware of the movie, my second thought after OMFGWTFBBQ PETER PAN!!!!11 was, "Who the hell is the guy playing Captain Hook? Jesus weeping Christ he's hot!" And I think it's going to work out. Jason Isaccs! Love. Love! Love! lovelovelovelovelove!
In other news, I have these sweet baby birds that I'm birdsitting while their daddy (exotic bird breeder) goes on his vacation. There are five of them, and they're precious. It's a little hard to get some of them to eat sometimes, so that makes me nervous. But they're such a joy! When they're done eating, they collapse in the pine shavings and sleep like babies. Really! I mean, sometimes face down, sometimes on their sides, sometimes with their wings around each other. I almost expect to hear thenmsnoring. They're pwecious.
Aside from that, Oh, what a day I had today. Starts of with me running very late on my way to work. So I'm sort of hustling down the North road and all, and guess what? Just guess! I got pulled over. Wow! That's never happened to me before. It was kind of fun, especially since I didn't get a ticket. (It doesn't hurt to have the PBA and FOP cards and an honorary copy of your Dad's badge. ;) Plus I wasn't going all that fast, either. Well, only a little. ;D )
There's more, but I'm going to post it seperately and friendslock it to protect the innocent. ;)
