I had eight grandparents (all divorced and remarried before i was born), and i'm now down to one, and that's what i saw happen. As soon as they either chose to just sit around all day or injured themselves (broken hip, broken ankle, whatev) in such a way that it meant a lot of sitting doing nothing, they all just started dying. My one remaining grandmother? 93 and she walks to the library every day, to church every Sunday, volunteers at the food bank, cleans her own house. I think she's going to be one of those people who just doesn't wake up one day because she decided she was just done.
