Oscars, Oscars, Oscars!

Thoughts on Oscars so far.

A dress made of diamonds? Oh, bite me!

Sean Connery. How is it that he's still hot?

Benicio is delish. I haven't seen 21 Grams; it's so on my list. I'm sad Benicio didn't win. He's my boyfriend.

Johnny's hair looks really nice like that; it's like a backwards mullet: business in the back, party in the front. He was really sweet to that 13 year old chick. Go, Johnny!

How cute does Elijah Wood need to be? It's criminal.

Jennifer Garner is on now. Isn't this [livejournal.com profile] minrho's favorite gal? Her earrings are really cool.

Renee Zellweger is awesome. My best friend's three year old daughter is going to grow up to look just like her. Yay, Renee.

Scarlett Johansson has a great green dress, and she's not emmaciated and and painful to look at!

Will and Jada Pinkett Smith are beautiful, aren't they?

Blake Edwards! Woot! Pink Panther! OMFG this is too hilarious.

That's the story so far.

ETA: Every year when they do the "Who Died This Year" thing, I always get a surprise. This year, it was David Hemmings. I had no idea he'd died. I had a huge crush on him through high school. Tch. Depressing.

ETA: David Hemmings as Mordred in Camelot leads me to another favorite of mine, Excalibur, and another favorite Mordred, Robert Addie, which leads me to learn that he died not a month before David Hemmings. WTF?!

mm. Jennifer Garner. My favorite, studly gal.

No oscar thoughts just yet. Just that I'm generally pleased about the LOTR oscar wins, but uneasy about the big ones in store.

And I love that pepsi commercial.
"She took my appetite-- and my ability to love!"

Heh, Diane Keaton dressed up as Annie Hall. :) Tho I feel bad for Keisha, she had no chance verses Pretty Doing Ugly.

And clean sweep for Rings, great and all, but I think City of God should've seen some love..

and isn't it weird that none of the best picture nominations had any best actor/ess noms?

I understand it, i guess. Such a large, ensemble piece. You can't single them out. The sheer number of them kinda defeat eachother. And they're not hookers or serial killers or noble lawyers/doctors/wacky teachers/dying cancerpatients-- you know-- roles the academy members can identify with out of personal experience. ;)

Sorry COG didn't win anything.

I can't believe Diane Keaton came dressed in a costume of herself in costume. Freaky. Annie Hall was-- what? 30 years ago? Let it go. And that's coming from an Annie Hall fan.
